Comment:

He is the BEST Professor in Bauer College. I had already taken the DB2 class in one of my earlier degrees. But the way he explained the concepts made me think I knew nothing until then. Very fair, straightforward and thorough. Thus can seem hard sometimes but if you put in the effort, you will learn a lot. I am still reaping the benefits in my job!

Comment:

There are no test and only homework assignments. If you don't keep up with the assignments you will fall behind and it can be a struggle to catch back up. There is no penalty for turning in late homework, but I highly suggest to not procrastinate.

Professor Scamell is a great professor. He is one of the 1st professors I had at UH that I genuinely liked and he truly cares about his students. You need to attend his class in order to succeed, b/c he breaks everything down. If you have questions go see him, he will spend all the time you need with him in order to understand. Highly recommended!

YOU NEED TO ATTEND CLASS and pay attention! You also need to spend 1-2 hours to do homework (assigns it every class!) I'm dropping because I didn't spend on hw. If you do the hw you're good. He's a nice guy and genuinely cares about his students. He told me I was smart, lol, he does encourage you a lot to do well.

The class is only hard if you do not pay attention in class. There is a lot of homework, which is time consuming, but if you listen in lectures he tells you how to do everything. One of the best professors of UH. He is nice. You have to pay attention in class to understand what he teaches. You will have lot of assignments but it is not that time-consuming. Exams are kind of similar to assignments.

He is a great prof. One of the best in Univ of houston. I didnt knew anything abt DBMS but the way he taught was awesome. I think he should focus on SQL more from start of course instead of the end of course.

A demanding instructor, but VERY helpful. You show effort and work hard, and he will help you and is very gracious. He is one of the best instructors in the CBA.
