Classes are super easy if you are good at memorizing info. Questions on tests tend to be straight out of lecture, so showing up and at least sort of listening is a good idea. His lectures/rants are rather interesting, and his expectations are reasonable. I'd definitely take him again.

I have mixed feelings about this man. Lectures are not very interactive, but he knows his stuff. And very willing to help. His tests can be a bit iffy- you must study hard; do not wait until the night before. also, be very descriptive in essay questions for the test. he also can be kind of a **** when grading papers. but i'd take him again.

Professor Schindler is one of the best at Allegheny. He's always very willing to help you on assignments, and is very understanding of Freshman shortcomings. He's also possibly one of the most entertaining people I have met in my life, no joke. Staunchly right-wing conservatives beware, this is not the professor for you.

I really dont appreciate him using his place at the head of the classroom as a pulpit for him to ramble about his political beliefs. his exams are extremely demanding; its quite possible that you study for hours and hours and only end up with barely a B- or worse. he's very smart and at times interesting but can get annoying and is tough in general

Schindler cast new light on a lot of art I had seen before or thought I was familiar with, making his classes endlessly entertaining. His rants were wonderful, hilarious, and wise. One of the best profs I've had in my four years here.

If you are lazy, sensitive, or close minded stay away. I think he's awesome. VERY intelligent. Very interesting and fun guy. You can learn a lot form him. I definitely agree that he's a jerk. Makes fun of and yells at people who make honest mistakes. Has absolutely no understanding and will cut you NO slack. It's incredibly hard to get him to give you an A of any sort, ever (pulled almost everyone's GPA down). Thinks he's the best thing that ever happened to the earth. Stay away for EL!!!
