Easy class but you do have to do your work like discussion board posts and papers. We did 5 papers and weekly discussion board posts on a different book every week or two. Easy grader but you are expected to do your work properly and understand. He is comprehensive and won't fail you for not being perfect. First professor to make English enjoyable!

I loved Dr. Taylor as my English 1100 professor. We had 3 major essays that he graded fairly, not too harshly. He responded to emails SO quickly and graded essays quickly too. He actually gave our class extra credit for using the Writing Center. I really liked him because he wasn't such a stickler for grammar or mechanics.

Dr. Taylor was a phenomenal professor. I'm not a fan of studying literature but I looked forward to going to his classes. He was always very enthusiastic about what he was teaching about. You will read short stories & passages & you should take detailed notes w/quotes. These quotes will show up on the exam! Go to class, take notes & get an A!

I had Dr. Richard Taylor for my English 7005, which basically prepares you for the needed in skills in Grad. School. He is extremely accessible, accommodating, and does not appear to be a difficult grader. He encourages a lot of group discussion and there are many papers, but they are not too difficult.

The professor doesn't really teach you anything. His class focuses on memorization, not appreciating literature. His tests are memorization based, not based on how well you comprehend and analyze the work. If you take him be ready to memorize passages of poems and plays verbatim. That's the kind of class this is.

Dr. Taylor is an incredibly kind and caring man. The class can be somewhat boring as all we do is listen to him read poems. However, it is not very difficult if you do the work and the things we read can be enjoyable. Would recommend.

He's a very nice man, but the entire class is a lecture. We read 2-3 poems for each class, and do not have ANY assignments or tests other than the midterm and the final. Watch out for random "reading checks" that will quiz you on tiny details from your textbook readings.

This class was a really easy A. We had 3 major paper assignments. We would submit little by little and he would always give good feedback. He is by far the best English teacher I have ever had. He did not make us write the way he wanted us to but the right way. The final was making a portfolio on our papers which was much better then taking a test.

Dr. Taylor is by far the best English professor I've ever had. He gives great feedback and truly cares about making you a better writer. We read 7 works total (1 play, 1 book of poems and 5 novels) but they were all interesting so getting through them wasn't too bad. Take him for your writing intensive. You won't regret it.

Dr. Taylor is by far the BEST professor I've ever had. I've taken him twice, and both times it was the most fun I'd ever had in a lit class. His paper assignments focus on what you learned in class, not how long or if the MLA format is correct. He takes a personal interest in his students and is truly passionate about what his subjects. Take him!

This guy is awesome. He's so funny but it's a shame he doesn't do too many face-to-face lectures anymore. Take him if you can! He can't hear very well so speak up! British Lit is a discussional course so all you have to do is read and come prepared to talk! Papers aren't hard and neither are the tests. One of the nicest professors I've met at ECU.
