Had to attend 3 concerts and write brief reports. Concerts were entertaining though. Dr. Thomas is always willing to give you extra credit if you don't do well on the exams. I had a c, d, a, and a on his exams and w/ extra credit got an A in the class.

Dr. Thomas is so nice! Easy to get an A as long as you go to class, take notes, and look over the notes the night before the test. He provides a study guide, and you only have to go to 3 concerts. Go to extra concerts for a Grade boost. Def. take him!

Dr.(?) Thomas has a great sense of humor. He's a quirky little band nerd, but his class is interesting, especially if you're interested in music. We used one day talking about the Beatles, another day on musicals; it was great! Most people thought the class was boring, but I liked it. As long as you go to class and take notes, you'll ace his tests.

I can't imagine a better instructor to take music appreciation with. He understands that most students have no experience with understanding musical jargon and he takes that into account. Must go to 3 UNCW concerts and write reviews of them - they get easier after the 1st one. Tests are easy if you read the text. Lots of extra credit opportunities.

dr thomas is awesome! hes funny and even funnier when he isnt trying, understands its a basic music elective and makes it as fair as possible, tests arent too bad he gives a good review sheet. final was very fair and he makes concert reports a piece of cake, take him!

Really funny guy. Is a pretty easy class if you just go and halfway pay attention. Isn't always the most interesting but he knows it and tells funny stories to make it a little better. He can really relate to his students and gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. Good easy way to get arts credit.

Thomas loves teaching this class, and you will probably enjoy taking it for the most part. Not always super interesting but so easy, all you have to do is show up for each class, take good notes, and listen to his tips. Gives lots of opportunities for extra credit, but you probably won't need it. Definitely take him, it's an easy arts credit.

maybe my favorite teacher that I have had at UNCW and I am a junior. I am not a MUS major but love the subject and am knowledgable on most info. I can see how even someone with no MUS experience could love his class. He is fun, funny and I actually look forward to class. you will also learn some very random but interesting facts..AWESOME class
