White did a good amount of lecture. Was very helpful and is open to help. He does get a little frustrated if he expects you to know something and he has to explain it to you. I thought I did better in this class but overall I really enjoyed his class- he is a great prof!

White actually does quite a bit of lecturing, which is great and he understands that not everyone learns just by doing group work. He is patient most of the time, but can sometimes get frustrated when you ask for help. He is very available though, as he has tons of office hours and is willing to set up a time to meet with you.

He is one of the best chem prof's here! I actually lectures in class and explains things instead of just making you struggle through in a work book. He has lots of office hours and is willing to help you with all of your homework problems, and answer any and all questions you have.

He enjoys what he teaches. I didnt like the class structure. He seems disorganized at times. Struggled at teaching some topics, but this was the first time the course was being taught.

He uses the group teaching method, which I actually liked. His tests are not too difficult and he will do all he can to help you understand.

Dr. White is the man. Easily the best prof I had freshman year. He knows whats going on and as long as you put the time in and read the book, the class is easy. Extremely nice and cares about his students. Take him for Gen Chem!!

Very hard!! Did not like the group teach method-left you with nothing to study off of b/c you didn't get your own packet only one person did. Lack of lecture meant he didn't tie the lesson together from one day to the next. Very nice guy. Willing to help before or after class.

White was highly intelligent but quite arrogant and close to useless when approached for help. Prepare to have your questions asked back at you. 'Group method' is glorified peer learning and, for the most part, forgoes professor-student based education. Do not expect lecture style teaching.

White is a great professor. I really enjoyed his class and he really does care about his classes. He teaches using a group method and writes his own homework which is nice. He's very accessible and tries to get you the student to understand the material instead of memorizing it.

White is justifiably arrogant. He is a very nice man, but it is near pointless to come to him looking for help. Chances are, you'll have your questions asked right back at you. That being said, if Chemistry is second-nature to you you should have no problem working with White and the group method.

Uses group method of teaching; for someone who learns best through lecture-style, White, although brilliant, is not your guy.

Dr. White is a really nice guy overall, but very very arrogant, and seems to think that his way is the only way. He has only one teaching method-group work. There is very minimal lecturing, and for me, it was very hard to learn this way. The tests were a nice surprse each time-not quite as hard as you'd expect them to be.

Dr. White is a REALLY nice guy. During class you work a lot with your table partners so make sure to learn a lot of the material on your own. Tests are ok, just study A LOT! But he is ALWAYS willing to help if you are having trouble.

I thought professor White was extremely helpful! He makes lab fun, and not only teaches us what we need to know, but so much more than that. I learned more from him than my lecture prof. And to the idiot who said he took points off of worksheets, lab professors don't grade the pre and post labs, your lecture prof is the one who grades them.

Can not stand him as a lab professor. If you want someone to meticulously grade and take points off for being detailed when detail was underlined as an important part of the assignment then he is for you. But for most, you won't be able to stand him. He wants you to go overboard in an intro class

Dr White has the HARDIEST tests ever!! He's a great teacher, always willing to review, explain, or help any student. I would recommend him but to a student w/ a lot of time to read the book, and study your ass off.
