Don't register for this class. If your value your GPA or are considering applying to a competitive grad school program, don't register for this class! I'm a straight A student and this class tanked my GPA. I know how to write like a college student, but he wants more creative writing than historical writing.

I like him! I love the creative writing within the historical things we're doing--it gets me thinking and makes it fun. Lots and lots of writing--at least 30 pages for the exams alone. But as long as you stay on top of it, he is fair and class is interesting. Learned a TON!

One of the most pretentious teachers I have ever experienced. He seems to give feedback with the intentions of being confusing. His tests are ridiculous. They are all creative writing based (seriously, one had to be written from the perspective of a Star Trek character) he grades more on the creative writing offering criticism without guidance.

His tests take an enormous amount of time and you are doing creative writing in his class, I would not recommend this course, His expectations are way too high and he marks you down on unnecessary things.

Great online class! Prof. W is helpful and responds to questions quickly. You just watch lectures and turn in 3 exams & 3 small assignments. He gives adequate time for exams and grades fairly. Textbooks should be used on exams. Do your research, back up your opinons with facts, and write like a college student and you will do fine. Would take again

He is inconsiderate and will grade down based on his expectations, his exams will take an incredible amount of time and he is usually not happy with what you submit and know that are in an English course rather than a history class. His books and materials are useless, do not purchase any of them. Do not take this class (my recommendation)

Great class. I took this online and loved it. Textbooks weren't used all that much, but as a history nerd myself I enjoyed reading the material. If you watch every lecture and take notes, you will pass. Your final grade is based upon your overall improvement in the course. I got an F on Exam 1 and still ended up with a 4.0 in this class.

Took this Online and LOVED IT. Great teacher- not hard to get solid A grades from him. Listen to the lectures, take great notes and be prepared for the take home exams. No pop quizzes, no timed exams. Keep yourself on track and you can ace the course. Very helpful with questions.

Rome. Excellent Class. Got an easy A, learned a bunch and enjoyed every minute of it. Despite the haters, he is a great teacher and only asks that you respond via the exams with what he has taught. ALL teachers want that. Main info from Lectures. Really was not much work to receive a solid A. Magister makes it fun! Highly recommended!!

He only wants a specific answer for his exams, if you don't give him what he envisions as the correct answer, but still give a correct answer, he will mark you down HEAVILY. He gives you an overall grade based on "improvement" so expect to fail the first exam, no matter how hard you try. I spent 6 hours on the first exam and only got a 55%.

For the online version of this course there are NO due dates. However, if you don't download the assignements before their 'suggested' due dates you can't get them back. He grades VERY hard! I got a 43/100 on one essay/exam and normally get at least 80+ in other classes with less effort.

I took his class for summer Online, we were asked to purchase books which we ended up using 10% during the whole semester and it was a waste of money, His test requirements is awful and I felt like I am in an English writing course rather than history, I would NOT recommend this teacher to any one!
