Dr. Holmes seems like a nice guy. He's somewhat soft spoken and I like the structure of his marking scheme. I've taken him a few times, and have gotten good marks. I especially liked him for the 4th year seminar class. He marked really fairly, and I got well over 80%!

I've taken 4 of Rick's classes, and have to say that they've probably been the most rewarding. He's very intelligent and extremely approachable. Classes can be a tad dry at times .. and he's a tad technologically-impared, so you might have to bear with him struggling with the doc cam, or vhs player.

Dr. Holmes is the prototypical good professor. He knows a lot about what he's teaching. He is interested both in having his students do well, and in finding out what they think about the texts. He gives assignments the mark they deserve.

Very knowledgeable when it comes to the topics in class. Very helpful and gives good suggestions for improvement. Tries best to make sure everyone can hear the lecture, meaning the noise makers are kicked out. Visuals such as overheads are rarely used, so make sure you are near the front to hear better.

He is an amazing professor, try to take as many of his Eng classes as possible. His lectures are clear, easy to follow and he always listens to your concerns and the TA marks fair. He hates talkers so be prepared to be kicked out if u disturb the class. The only slight nack I had was the overhead notes were sometimes blurry, but still readable.

What a cute lil' prof. He reminds me of den Otter. Very smart. Willing to listen to anyone's opinion, even the stupid ones. Not sure about how he marks, the TA did all mine, but she was great! He hates talkers in class. His exams are easy. No midterms!

His classes are so boring that he actually has to send out emails threatening his students to come to them or risking not having their essays marked. Aside from a core group of misfits that talk non-stop, nobody goes. Those who do spend the entire time looking at their watches.

At first he seems boring, but once you go to class enough he's just like a high school teacher, knows his stuff, cares about your opinion and is helpful. People in the class try to make their idiotic comments heard too often, but that can't really be helped. A great guy overall.
