Dr. Jones frequently rambled on during lecture. He reads of his powerpoints but he doesnt ever post his notes online, so you better attend lecture. He tells you all the essay questions ahead of time. Exams are easy if you read, pulled a 95 % on the final.

Dr. Jones was a great professor. His class was extremely interesting because he actually related the material back to real life situations. The class is pretty easy. The exams are tough because they do not correlate with lecture. Therefore, reading is important. This class was one of my favorite this semester and I would recommend Dr. Jones again.

He goes through the slides EXTREMLY slow, gets off topic for most of the lecture, and gives no material to help study for the exams. The only plus is attendance isn't necessary, and if you use the online book summaries to study you can get an A.

This was such a mistake to take this professor. His class is a constant ramble and there really was no point to going except so that he could see my face every once in awhile to ensure my grade dosent drop due to attendance. The only way I studied was with the online quizzes. He never gave us any material that helped on the exam.

Jones is a nice man, but rambles a LOT. He doesn't know how to stay on topic and he only talks about issues that apply to his life. What he lectures about in class is not on the tests so make sure you keep up with the assigned reading and textbook material. I would recommend him only because it's not that hard to receive a good grade.

This guy says UMMMM all the time I made a huge mistake by taking this class it is a waste of time. I guess the only good thing would be that his class is in no way based on attendance. But seriously, good luck staying awake in this class.

He is the worst professor I have ever had. He is a screaming liberal and this class should not be taken. He says um all the time and his tests have nothing to do what he talks about in class. If you are looking to finish a core credit class do not take him! trust me it is terrible.

Dr. Jones is certainly one of the finer professors that you'll find at M.U.รข€"though attendance doesn't factor into his grading scale, I encourage you to attend his lectures and take notes. He always writes out the need-to-know stuff on the board. He's fun to listen to and his lessons are easy to follow. Great sense of humor and very approachable.

He's a pretty nice guy and seems to truly enjoy teaching sociology. His assignments and tests are super easy if you read the books. Attendance is not mandatory. No big deal if you miss class. If you keep up with the readings, you'll do fine. His stories about his family and Finland are repetitive and get boring after a while.

Great professor! Very engaging and has interesting stories. He is very knowledgable about sociology. The tests are easy if you read, and the small papers just boost your grade. I would definitely suggest him to anyone. Also, he doesn't impose his liberal ideals on anyone. He merely uses them to exemplify points as if it fits into the lecture.

Rick Jones is possibly one of the worst teachers I have ever had in my life. Not only are his lectures extremely dysfunctional and almost incomprehensible, but he also barely talks about the material. He relates everything back to his life, thus, accomplishing absolutely nothing in class. Assignments are easy but lectures are nearly excruciating.

Hands down the best teacher I have ever taken at marquette. He is so interesting and keeps you engaged with his stories. Attendance isn't mandatory and he tells you straight up what he expects of you. He isn't trying to trick anyone and doesn't make his class too hard. I love him and recommend everyone take him.

I can't help but fall asleep during this class. I take the notes in class, and read the online overviews of the textbook chapters, but don't read the chapters, cause it's not necessary. He loves to talk, like the WHOLE TIME. He is very very liberal, and calls himself a hippy. Fairly controversial.

I would recommend jones. His class isn't mandatory but going definately helps. There isn't much workload. Really easy 2 page 5 point papers based off your own life. And three exams. Exams aren't bad but obviously you need to study. One of my favorite classes at MU so far

I also would consider myself a conservative but I didn't let his opinions to get to me. If you're accepting of different opinions I wouldn't be concerned that he's a "FLAMING LIBERAL". It's nice to hear opposing sides.

He is an okay prof. I really liked him at first but now I've lost my interest. I feel he teaches just for the sake of his opinions and says semi-offensive things (not the N word, but rather "I get paid to do nothing at this job" sorta stuff) I'm actually surprised Jones has been saying the N word; he never did in my class. Tests= easy if you study
