Awesome prof. Super easy going and always making jokes. Notes were a little hard to take from lecture, but was very knowledgeable and made class very interesting. Tests were all written, but marked easy.

This course is brutal.. not the teacher. He really knows his stuff and enjoys teaching ecology. The exams aren't too hard.. they're strictly based on class notes and NOT the text, if you miss a class your screwed. His lectures are a bit boring but its more the class than anything.

He's a bit boring, at least he tries very hard to give usefuland interesting examples plus clear expectations. His accented "maysure" was really hard not to snicker at which was bad since I sat up front.

One of the worst profs I have had. He has an outline that he displays and then he talks and you write down whats important. The problem is everything is important. This isnt my favourite field of study but he made it much worse, his exams seem easy but turn out to be marked very hard, so leave thinking 85% but actually get 65%. Change if possible!!

Very easy prof! Works in the field so teachings were well done and very relevant. Knowledgeable about Ecology on all levels. Very informative course, if you are at all interested in aspects of science or wildlife reccomend to take!

Attending lecture is mandatory because large portions of his exams are from examples given in class. If you enjoy Ecology and pay attention his classes are fun. Very, very nice and easy to approach with any questions.

Do not take Ecology with this man! He is quite possibly the most boring man on the planet. His exams did NOT reflect the notes well, and were much too vague. Cannot pronounce the word "measure" for the life of him (he says maysure. I have lost my love for Ecology!

1st->DO NOT BUY TXT BOOK! 2nd-> he would seem like a boring teacher but when u get a subsitute(other bio teachers) for a day and you will see how good rick is at not making the class as boring as the teachers would. You have to go every lecture and STUDY the examples he gives you. Easy class, its all common sense.

I'm still trying to figure out how to study for his tests; you definitely need more than just memorization, and the textbook doesn't tie in with his notes very well. He has a habit of licking his front teeth, so don't sit near the front unless you want to watch the show.
