Comment:
Murray was all around a great professor, its a shame its his last semester teaching at JMU because I though he did a great job. While this class is very tough, Murray went out of his way during office hours many times. This was my 2nd time taking this class and Murray really wanted to help his students(unlike my past professor). Kudos to Murray!

Professor Murray is a great guy, while COB 291 may be one of the toughest pre-reqs for the school of business, he made the class relatively easy. I attended almost every lecture, and did all the assignments (5.5 projects, 14 quizzes (lowest dropped) and the 3 Exams + Final), im on track to get roughly a C+ with relative ease. Definitely recommend.

This semester (Fall 2016) was his first teaching in quite a few years. He was still figuring out how to teach the course as we went along. He's a nice guy and is very helpful in office hours. It's not an easy class - You have to work for a decent grade. 3 exams, quizzes on each chapter, HW/CW assignments & projects. Take him if you're ready to work

291 is a hard class in general but he was terrible at teaching and expects so much from the class on tests. Was really frustrated with him this past semester. Just runs through powerpoints and doesnt provide enough help to really understand material.

He is an extremely nice Professor. It was his first semester returning to teach, and it showed. There was often an abundant amount of miscommunication. Not completely convinced that we learned the material to the extent of other classes. Definitely still learned a lot and you will need to do homework in order to grasp all of the concepts.

Much easier professor for this class compared to almost all of your other options. 291 is the hardest class before 300 you need to go into it realizing you need to put in more work than any of your previous classes. Was asked to make the class harder 1/2 way through because his classes were doing better than everyone else. Def best option for 291.

NOT a bad teacher. 291 is a hard in general, as long as you show him that you're trying, he'll help you out. He wants you to succeed!! Compared to the other 291 professors, I would say he's one of the better ones. Cheat sheet on every quiz/test. First year teaching full time, so he's still trying to workout kinks. SUPER NICE.

He was very laid back in the beginning, then he did a 180 and made it much more difficult than it needed to be. He changes his grading structure pretty much every week (says he'll drop 3 quizzes then decides not to). Makes tests extremely diffult to get an A/B (15 questions, 8 points each). Too late to withdraw now so I'll probably end up with a D

She does not curve tests even though one of them had class average of a 50. My friend took Ping Wang and got so much extra credit and got a way better grade than me for some reason.

Not a fan of Riley, his tests have been so hard and the amount of work I've put in does not reflect in my grade whatsoever

Worst teacher I have had in COB. Tests are unreasonably hard and so different than class problems.

3 Tests, not bad at all you get cheat sheets, quizzes everyweek along with hw. FINAL WILL BE HARD due to the fact his class is much more laid back than other teachers
