Not very helpful for a beginner in a foreign language. I worked very hard and went to class twice a week as required. My grades did not add up at the end of the semester and he seemed aloof about this. I would not recommend him for beginners. For an advanced student, he would be great.

He uses a systematic approach and does not try to force you to speak the language in class, which helped me tremendously (introvert).I've tried to take other language classes and have not been successful.I learned so much in his class and will take Spanish II with him. He's not easy, but he's a great teacher. Come to learn and you will pass.

You guys need to understand that learning a new language is not supposed to be easy. He knows it.He definitely cares about his students and classes!Tests are only difficult if you don't study enough.Make sure you read the textbook and do the workbook prior to each class.He will defiantly reward your efforts and will help you with the final grade.

Awful class. I have always liked spanish classes but this changed my whole perspective. He is very unclear, does nothing but read to you the whole class period. Attendance is very important but he is nice enough to let you make up classes. However, I would NOT suggest taking his class. You can find a better teacher.

This teacher is the WORSE, if you have not taken Spanish before, this class will be hard for you!!! All he does is read directly out of the book and you can do that at home. If you miss more than 3 days he takes points off your final grade.

Class is ridiculously hard for elementary spanish. He expects too much. If you have no experience of Spanish this is not a good class for you at all. He is very rude most of the time and hates repeatin anything. And when you're trying to learn a language things need to be repeated at times. Stay away from this class =D

Worst class. I was an A Spanish student until this class. He combines many years of spanish learning into one semester class. Amount of online work done at home is trememdous; course materials very expensive and can't be resold due to product key for the online manual. Nice man, but clueless on workload for students in a 1200 level class.

He is the worst. He gets pissed off easily and is unclear on what needs to be done. The tests and quizzes are worded extremely hard for an elementary spanish class. He engulfs you in Spanish on the first day of class. He's useless and needs to find a job he cares about. THE WORST

Tough teacher in my opinion, but very concise, clear, and eductated. I plan on taking another class from him. Don't piss him off though. He gets irritated easily, but has a decent sense of humor. Attendance is important. Ask questions, it shows interest.

this man is ridiculous. he doesnt remember what he assigned, and expects you to have it ready to turn in whenever he feels like it. he tells you the online lab manual is due later, when he really has no control over it and you end up losing lots of points (STICK TO THE SYLLABUS!) he grades very harshly, down to the accent marks and correct grammar.

He is too harsh on grading and I found him quite disrespectful to his students. A fellow student and I wrote a complaint letter to the Dean about how he humiliates everyone during class. Tests are hard. Doesn't teach material very clearly. Only 2 of 30 in my class are passing.
