Prof. Bassman is a nice man and damn smart. Unfortunately, he's not the greatest professor. It's true that he really oughta retire already. He's in his 80s and fought in World War II. You'll probably fail numerically, but his curves will get you a B or higher... But still, his tests do not reflect what's taught in class.

Dude this guy is mad old yo! You won't understand anything, just go to the TA discussion class and you'll be set for the tests usually.. Almost everyone fails his quizes and test, but in the end you'll get a decent grade...

I never thought I would take a 400 level class and learn absolutely NOTHING. The guy goes on tangents about god knows what. He's so out of it that when he starts talking about a topic, he forgets what he was talking about half way into the material. I could definately see his TA's feeding him applesauce. Only in Binghamton!

The man is a fossil. He needs to retire already. He rambles on about NOTHING in class. The only point of going to class is so you can copy what he writes on the board in your notes so that you have something to put on the exams you take (which you will know nothing about). Terrible!

I would like to repeat everything that is posted here. I feel like I got screwed out of $1000 for his course and his course lowered my GPA.Someone needs to give him the boot and tell him to not let the door hit him on the way out. The econ dep. should be ashamed in recommending this class.WORTHLESS

He is 85 years old. I feel bad saying it but he is an idiot for a teacher. His classroom lectures are terrible and explain nothing. He talks about the problem of irrelevance taking over general discussion.. We'll this guy was born to be irrelevanant.

Just because you can play ball doesn't mean that you can coach. There needs to be more of a qualification for profs.other than a PhD.In order to teach, you should be able to communicate somewhat. He is awful and shouldn't be allowed on campus.

he's just a waste of of your time and money. Yeah if you do the work in the book you'll do fine, but that's not teaching or instructing. He's just a waste of perfectly good oxygen, hydrogen, and carbon

It should be a requirement for a professor to be sane to teach a class, but guess not. He's completely nuts, hardest class, but didn't learn a thing. Avg test grade was about a 14, and material covered in class had nothing to do with what was tested.

Avoid him at all costs. He is the most horrible proffesor I have ever had. He's a nice old man who knows his stuff but what you learn does not appear on tests. However, tests are open books and notes, which is a plus, just don't expect to learn anythin
