DO NOT take this man's class. In fact, I would advise to not interact with him at all if possible. In person or in emails, he is horrible to work with on any level. He is arrogant, rude, selfish, ignorant, condescending, not understanding at all, just an all-around terrible person. He's a suck-up to the university and majorly lacks compassion.

You must take his classes; it does not matter what major you are, he will teach you things that you will not learn anywhere else. Do not listen to other peoples comments about his E mails, becuase he always responded to mine!! He is down to earth and very understanding :) Do NOT leave Marshall without taking one of his courses.

I've had him several times and he is great. What he teaches applies to your whole life, not just a class. He can lecture on anything. Always assigns papers, never had an exam. Highly recommend!

I have had this prof for several classes now. He is always interesting but all the papers get old. He is still a very nice teacher and very passionate about his subject matter. He is very smart and discusses a wide range of topics in class. I have enjoyed all his classes and come away with knowledge that is useful to me everyday.

Bookie has some really interesting lectures and class discussion and he picks good texts that are engaging. Don't bother e-mailing him though and he can get off topic sometimes when class could just be dismissed. He rarely gives exams, just lots of papers. I hate writing papers but I still enjoy his classes. I recommend him highly!

I LOVED this class and Dr. B! He is really interesting to listen to and really knows his stuff. He can get off topic but whatever he is talking about is still interesting. He has sooo much to teach you and I always did work for this class before any other classes. TAKE him and CMM311!

A very interesting teacher! His lectures are really fun to listen to and he talks to the class like we're adults. Does not sugar coat anything. However... grades papers very hard, but still an interesting man to listen to (and kinda cute!)

I think he is very helpful. He is usually a little late on e-mails but if you go to his office when he has hours or ask him ahead of time when a good time to talk is, he is very helpful. He is very smart and despite his efforts at modesty about his knowledge, he knows how smart he is. Take it with a grain of salt and learn from him.

Bookwalter is very close minded and not helpfull at all. I tried to give meaningfull speeches as aposed to the matress speech and he still gave me a crappy grade. I was graded very unfairly on my speeches, and when I needed help he was leaving to go have lunch with his wife or not in his office.
