Absolutely a great guy. You'll feel pretty bad because his class is so awful, and it's hard if you don't have a basic understanding of stats. His quizzes are mostly vocab/formulas, and his tests are right from the problems in the notes. You can do well if you work at it but he's not an easy grader either.

DROP IF YOU HAVE HIM. There was only one kid in the class that got an A. Half the class dropped right after the midterm. Save yourself, save your GPA.

Nice but eccentric guy. I like him personally but not as a teacher. He doesn't explain material well & tests don't match what he teaches. He has a huge ego and this is not only annoying but it has the effect of him not being clear about MANY THINGS and taking the position that any trouble you have is your fault for not understanding his brilliance.

A pretty dry professor but is relatively clear and cares about his students doing well. Emphasized vocab a lot which was strange for Stats but I felt more than competent going into Stats II. While the vocab is difficult, the actual problems are straight forward. Also has an English accent, which is funny at times.

Avoid. Had him for Stats I - very easy class, so I did well, but in spite of him. Don't think I've ever had a more boring class. Felt behind when I started Stats II the next semester.

I took him for stats I and I actually did really well in his class. BUT, it is so difficult to stay awake because he really doesn't teach, & he likes to make students feel stupid. Every time I had class I literally wanted to kill myself with a pencil. If you just read the notes and do the problems, you'll be fine.

Took him for stats2 and he is the worst professor i have ever had. He doesn't care about the students, and his notes are from Word Doc. usually his notes are wrong too. His nickname is "The Gpa Killer". We had 6 ppl in our class, I even went to him during office hours, he says, i posted answers online and use the book. I obviously failed.

He curves the exams, greatly!! So there's no reason one couldn't get a grade above B-(which is the norm)if at least tried in the course and the exam. I basically followed his instructions from the review sheet, did exercises, reviewed notes and got an A in the midterm. Great professor.

Materials are not that easy but he made them simple enough for you to understand. All who said quizzes and exams are not easy are simply making excuses for not working hard enough. Professor Brent is a nice person. He is always willing to help you during his office hours if you have any questions .

He is the worst, do not take him. He does not care about any of his students. He gives 10 quizes drops 1, they're worth 1/3 of ur grade and the midterm and final are another 1/3 each. The quizes are very difficult. The midterm and final seem easy until you get it back and he takes a rediculous amount of points off for no reason.

He is a horrible teacher. He is more interested in writing his book than the students. He did not know anybody's name even after the midterm. He was not interested in helping students during office hours. He marked correct answers wrong on the midterm and would not fix it. I dropped the class. When I took it again w/ another teacher I go an A.

Those positive comments below were certainly made by Brent himself. While some might say the class was not difficult, no one would claim that Brent was a good professor. Brent does not care about his students or the class.

terrible professor, terrible person - worst i have had at fordham. doesnt care about his students, honestly gets joy out of it when students express that they are confused. our class's FINAL AVERAGE for the COURSE was a 54/100. which means on average, students retained half of what this man says. quizzes are easy. exams are tought. t/f + impossible

Really a great professor! The material may be a bit difficult, but he teaches in such a way that its easy to understand. "Matching" style quizzes every week which should be easy if you've paid attention. Midterm and a final that really aren't too bad. I would definitely recommend Brent if you want to learn some useful statistics!

Worst professor. Gives you ambiguous test questions that can be answered in 50 different ways. completely unfair, doesnt give credit to students for SHOWING UP to lectures. poor teacher, teaches you concepts and expects you to learn mechanics doing hw (which he doesnt grade/check anyway). complete waste of my time, this grade killed my gpa.

OK, he's an alright professor, NEVER takes attendence and notes are online. Gives 10 quizzes, each with 10 matching problems, drops lowest. Midterm/Final sorta hard, and has true/false/uncertain questions. A bit boring. BUT! he curves as much as necessary. No way I had a 90 but got an A- in the class. Probably curved 3-5 points on final grade

You can print notes off blackboard which is a plus. Class consists of 10 quizzes (straight from notes, drops lowest grade), a project, midterm, final. Doesnt explain project very well but the text is a big help. Gives a study sheet before tests with questions very similar to the ones on test. Has an overwhelming desire to spank the textbook.
