Show up and take a lot of notes, attendance isn't mandatory but it really helps if you go. nice guy and is very personable. the class is based heavily on tests but you can use a cheat sheet so just make sure you have good notes.

He is a very good professor. You will read a lot, and you will need to know it all. Philosophy is not easy and he tries his best to explain things, but sometimes you will have to learn on your own. He always makes time to help out. The class take hard work (and plenty of thinking).

There were a lot of readings from the text, but you could probably make do without reading all of them because he is pretty descriptive in class. There were writing assignments and the tests are a few short answer with longer response essay-type questions.

Card is a good professor. He holds intersting lectures. The topics overlap and get confusing but he allows a full page cheatsheet. Make full use of it.

Card is a really nice guy. He's smarter than the class. I'm sure he is considered a "good professor" to people who understand Philosophy. If you don't have a philosophical mind-set, then good luck. His way or the highway. 3 tests. 1 essay. 3 response paragraphs. His grading makes passing almost impossible if you struggle in the least bit.

All tests are based off readings, so you'd better do them. He goes over the readings in class, but it's better to have already read them. While it's not a very interesting class, I didn't find it too difficult. Make sure you take notes!

His whole class and his exams are based on all of the readings done in class. So make sure that is done. Class may get boring but there is a cheat sheet for the exams which helps a lot!

Assigned readings are drier than dirt and everyone in the class stopped reading them after the first week of class. Tests are very hard even with a cheat sheet.

Comment:
Intelligent, great texts, helps you understand, but his tolerance of idiocy and cold professional wall is bad. He attempts to intelligently warp dumb comments into good points, which adds to the class, and he genuinely thinks about good ones... When you talk to him it seems like he's using internalized recordings of cold, impersonal responses.

Card is a really good professor, I was in a huge lecture and he knew more than half the classes names, he really tries to get to know his class. Take good notes, you're allowed a full sheet front and back cheat sheet for every test. Bring your computer to fight the bore of the content, I didn't even read the book and got an A-

I did not do well in this class and gonna retake it, but not with Card! There is wayyyy too much work for this class, esp. as a gen ed. I heard the lady who teaches it is a lot easier.

Really, really nice guy. Kind of monotone, but oh well. The class is easy, just make sure you understand everything and can clarify everything on the exams. You're allowed to use a notesheet on the exam which really helped. He's a good teacher, I would definitely recommend him.

Extremely hard grader. I studied for weeks and still got a horrible grade on both tests. He explains things well. I just think his grading needs to ease up, especially for a gen ed course.

This class is WAY TO HARD for a gen ed! There are papers and then essay exams which are almost impossible! The class was interesting but I just could not do good, no matter how much I studied. This class was crazy hard!
