Absolutely awful. Will make your life a living hell. Grading is unclear and without rhyme or reason. Gives you the grade he wants you to have. If you ask for help, the answer is always "Look in the book". Happiest day of my life was my last day in his class.

Grading method is absurd and unclear.(A96+) He practically gives you what he wants to give you! His mind set is that no one should "excel" in his class, (A) which is why only 6 people will take the upper level class. An absolute joke and disgrace to the program. Your intellect isn't accurately reflected in this class and it will affect your GPA

Dr. Chin is a great guy, not a great professor. This class is dependent on you ability to learn the material on your on. The class requires a lot if work and the quizzes aren't super hard just random and may contain trick questions. I have worked in the design industry and it did not help in class. I learned more from CC and working in the industry

You're basically teaching yourself in this course. He's a nice enough guy but don't expect a lecture. Stay on top of material and if you have questions be CONCISE. Do not, I repeat DO NOT complain to him! You will regret it if you complain, he will make it harder on you. Want to succeed?: Ask for resources to help you succeed.

Hardest class in my life. There is no mercy in this class. He say's you'll learn really quick even if you have never messed around with Auto Cad ever. Wrong. Before you know it, you'll be doing orthographic projections and 3-D drawings without even realizing how you got there. Asking for help leads to him telling you to find it on your own.

I found his class made me work harder to understand more on my own. I have a lot of respect for what he does and how he delivers instruction that makes you think for yourself. He has a lot of questions that will prompt you into asking questions such as how and why.

He makes life a living hell. He doesn't know how to teach. Honestly you should change your major now because his classes are required for you to graduate with a degree in Design. His quizzes usually try to trick you and make you second guess everything. Now that I'm thinking about it, he makes me second guess everything I do even if it is right.

Had him for Desciptive. Class teaches the fundamentals but has little real world use. Doesnt make things easy but is available for WELL PREPARED questions. Class is hard but just go with it. Complaining does nothing but fuel his fire. Fought hard for a C. My first in years! Think he failed a few seniors so beware. Do the work and play his game

Dr. Chin is a great professor. He teaches students how to teach themselves. In the real world, thats how it is. Your boss will not take the time to explain everything to you, its impossible. I got an A in every single design class, just show up and do the work to be the best of your ability. He responds to emails within minuites!

Dr.Chin is byfar the worst teacher I have ever had! He does not help at all! dont bother asking a question, he'll answer it with a question, call you out, then make u find it yourself. I am monthes away from graduating, and honestly feel like I have learned nothing! not from him atleast. ECU should find another arch instructor!

This teacher is the most confusing teacher i have ever had here. In class, you do everything out of the book. But he constantly asks you to change everything. ex: floor plans, window sizes, trusses! ugh!! its a nightmare. Be ready to spend countless hours in the lab working on your final project! have fun

My dream was to be an architect and my biggest mistake was going to ECU for that. You can not teach yourself architecture from nothing but a book and that is all that you will find here. Any question you ask will be answered with an even more confusing question. Now I have to go figure out what to do with the rest of my life.
