I took Dr. Cohen's Intro to Psychology honors course and it was really great. There are about 14 tests, which are open book and unlimited attempts. 6 total reading/writing assignments. I learned so much!!

Although Dr. Cohen is extremely knowledgable, his lectures are a bit boring. He assigns a LOT of papers. There's an online quiz for every chapter and you have to read the textbook (the chapters are LONG) to do well. He is not very personal at all. My class had about 15 students and he still didn't know our names by the end of the semester.

I enjoyed this class. His lectures were long and sometimes boring but he did a great job at explaining things to the class. There is a LOT of reading involved in this class, along with homework. Attendance is not mandatory but highly stressed. He gives essays as the exams, which can be difficult. There were daily class discussions that were helpful

Absolutely love this professor! My child psychology class was one of my favs. He doesn't check attendance, but he remembers faces and will recognize if you show up or not ( it will make you look bad if you don't) Great teacher and interesting lectures. He likes when you participate but won't force you to talk if you're shy. Would recommend!

Prof is great, lectures are very informative. Although attendance not taken, he will test you on lecture material in essays and take-home tests. Class discussions happen often and are helpful and fun as well. Online chapter tests for reading every week + six or seven 2-3 pg papers + 1 project. You will read and write, but nothing too difficult.

Children's Social Relationships is all about reading articles and class discussions (it was a small class, about 8 people). Dr. Cohen is very helpful and wants you to succeed. The tests are answering questions about the research and offering your own criticisms. You also lead class discussions on an article, which is much easier than it sounds.

Dr. Cohen definitely saved my Psych grade. I made a D my first time with another teacher but he helped me get it to a B from his summer course. He loves questions and gives great feedback. 11 tests over summer, but it's so much better being tested on one chapter at a time than four. He always goes over tests right after. He's great!!!

Summer Course:Dr. Cohen was a fantastic teacher. He gave up to 10 extra credit points to your final grade. He has a unique grading scale that all professors should adopt. No exam. The down side is that you have to read a chapter every night in order to not get behind. There are about 11 tests, which equates to a quiz almost every other day. Take!

Dr Cohen knows what he is doing, and knows his class is tough. I took the summer course, 4 months into 4 weeks. We had 11 tests, 2-3 times a week. Before the tests started, he offered for people to stay, to teach them how to study. The people who stayed and followed his guidelines, got away with an A. Those who didn't do the study method failed

Awesome prof! I took the Honors section: TONS of work. Weekly Quizzes. Lecture Tests. Essays on reading. Attendance not mandatory but the lecture tests basically shows if you attend. Cohen encourages students to ask questions and verbalize thoughts. He's extremely helpful and understanding. A little sarcastic but I loved it! Made it interesting. ;)

Summer class is HARD! You have to read pretty much an entire chapter every other day. Quizzes are 25 questions, and they're only 25 minutes long -not cool. Class averages are about 70%. Make sure you take good notes (not JUST what's on the powerpoint), because there are lecture quizzes as well as chapter quizzes.

His Child Social Relationships seminar is really interesting. You read 1-3 journal articles a week and write a 2-3 page paper on them. He gives the prompt. You have a research assign. he gives you the first day of class and it's due the last day. Does have a final- take home. I have learned a LOT from this class. **Can contract for honors course**

I've had several courses from Dr. Cohen and have enjoyed each of them. He does assign an extraordinary amount of work, but the in-class discussions are always fun. A word to the wise: Participation in these discussions is strongly encouraged, but keep your personal anecdotes to yourself. Plays favorites sometimes, but not a bad guy on the whole.

This class was very time consuming but not that hard. I took him for honors child psychology and as long as you did the papers and the two projects and the online open book tests every week you would be able to pass the class easily. The papers were not hard but there were a lot of them and as long as you read the book the online tests are easy.
