A good choice for Humanities 1. Class is based off of five unit exams with the last one serving as the final. Lots to read, but all the study guides are on quizlet. He has a confusing attendance policy, but honestly showing up to his lectures were fun.

Dise is a pretty good professor. He has some boring content to teach, but can make it more interesting than it really is. He often tells stories and gets a little side tracked from time to time. If you want to do well make sure you fill out or look at the study guide often. Also do all of the readings or else you will struggle.

Dise's has 5 test, and grades on nothing else. He will give you extremely long study guides but almost all 50 of the multiple choice test questions come straight from it. Take your time and fill those out and you will do just fine... Oh and his grading scale is based on 20's! (Ex. 85-100 A, 80-84+ A-, and so on.) It's hard to fail (need 19.9%)

Uses up the entire class time lecturing. If you have questions, you have to ask them at the end. Gives you all the powerpoint recordings online. Strict attendance policy. His tests were part multiple choice, and a short essay. I completely failed the first exam and still got a B in the course so his grading scale is generous.

Dises grading scale is super easy, but the tests are hard. Have to read the text assigned because half of the test questions are over the reading. Lectures entire 50 minutes and NEVER cancels. You can pass, but takes effort and attendance.

He lectures each class and doesn't use any in-class participation. No essays or presentations, just a significant amount of reading but it isn't too much. He provides study guides with almost the exact questions that will be on the exam. Overall a good professor for both of the Humanities I and III courses.

Has four tests in each of his Humanities classes. Has a textbook and supplementary book that goes with it. He makes his lectures entertaining because he is very animated. The tests are all multiple choice and he gives study guides with direct questions from the test. If you pay attention and do the study guides it is a very easy class.

Don't buy the books, everything is on Quizlet and you get a study guide for every test. Lecture heavy. Four tests, final is the last chapter test. Rambles to buy time at points, which is annoying-- very much a "get your money's worth" professor. It would be hard to fail this class if you show up to class.

Lots of reading and the lectures are required to pass, but his study guides are EXACTLY what is on the test. He requires you to do the work, but if you use the study guides he will make the tests very simple. I learned this halfway through, and got all As after.

You have five tests and they are only 50 questions all multiple choice. There is a lot of reading but you can find quizlets to find all the answers to the study guide if you don't feel like reading. Overall a super easy course, straight memorization.

All of the classes were lectures and most of my studying had to be done outside of class. He's very strict with attendance that he has a seating chart for a class thats 100 students or more in the lecture hall. If you are gone anytime besides test days, you need to have a lot of proof to have an excused absence.

four tests through out the year. There are quizlets that look just like the study guide he gives out. Puts all of his lectures online with the powerpoint and his voice. His grading scale makes this class super easy to pass. Definitely the best professor for a humanities course.

I love Dise's dark sense of humor and that he gives his own perspective on the topics he lectures about. I was warned that he was going to be tough before I took his class and he held up to that. He'll make you work for your grade. Try printing the study guide to write down answers to as you hear them in lecture though it helps a ton!

One of my favorite professors that I've had within the last 3 years at UNI. His lectures often get away from what is actually on the test, but I find all of them engaging and often hilarious. Tip: print out the study guide the first day it's available and write notes based on those questions. It will save you tons of time!!

Dr. Dise is so funny! He is a great guy, just the content he is teaching is very hard to comprehend in a short amount of time. The test are relatively easy if you use Quizlet or Cram to find answers to the study guides. I would recommend taking humanities online through Hawkeye Community College.

Dr. Dise is funny and a good professor. The amount of work he puts into his lectures is amazing. From the start of the lecture to the end, it is very interesting. He is an awesome orator and makes history truly interesting. Make sure to take his classes about classical civilization, that is his specialty.

Dise is a good guy and he has great lectures. I appreciated his HUM 3 class so I took this one. He gives out study guides with over 250 questions on it so you can prepare and take notes ahead of time. HIGHLY reccommend this. He curves tests, and they are hard. You get 6 absences until he starts docking it from your grade. Good luck!

Humanities with Dise was pretty painless. There is a lecture everyday, a couple tests each semester, and you get 6 free absences. I managed to walk away with a C without ever doing any of the readings, so if you do the readings, I imagine you'll do pretty well. Also, his voice sounds like Nicholas Cage.
