Robert Kearney does not deserve the title of professor as he has no regard for his students academic progress or emotional well-being.

This was an amazing class. The professor is really helpful as well as the TA. I saw many people complaining about Matlab or the content. But this is a specialization class for graduate students. If at this point f your career you don't know how to use Matlab or basic concepts of signal processing, this class is not for you. The prof is amazing.

By far the worst Prof I have had in my 4 years at McGill. Pompous, arrogant, acts as if this is the only class you are taking for the semester. Each assignment took me from 15-30 hours, and they are due once a week.

This is not an easy class, but you learn a lot about signal processing and how to use Matlab. The way the course is structured is just suffocating for someone in their last year of undergrad. If you can't escape it, try to enjoy it, work with other students, and be very organized. The strict late policy definitely pushes you to be on top of things.

Rob Kearney is a great professor. The people below clearly don't know how to use the 'help' feature on MATLAB. He spoon-feeds you the material so that you can get 95+ on every assignment. The lazy grad students love to complain nonetheless, even though this class is the easiest I've taken at McGill. Easy course, great prof, time of my life!

This guy has not gotten any better since the last ratings were submitted. The class is terribly taught, students have no idea what is going on. The workload is equal to that of three classes put together. Dr. Kearney is stubborn, unhelpful, and offensive, even to the extent of making inappropriate comments in class. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!

omg, i hate this class...it has ruined my semester. what a crappy way to start u3. why do they make undergraduates take a graduate level course with people doing their Phds? so much stress...horrible lectures, no help, no textbook, no way to enjoy this class unless you come into it already knowing ALL the material already

This is the worst put together course I have ever taken. This is an extremely important topic, but is presented in such a haphazard 'do it yourself' way, that students do not have a chance. Only take it if it's a requirement for your major. If you are in physics and physio, god have mercy on your soul for U3 semester 1. The TA is useless as well.

Clearly would rather be in his lab rather than teaching, absolutely no sense of when students are following the train of thought and following his monoglogues. His intro classes are not.
