Loved Professor Forrant! Such a nice person and an incredible teacher. He's won awards for his teaching, and they were well deserved. I'm not a history major; I took this class for honors credit, but I loved it. One of the best professors I've ever had. Highly recommend.

Course was unlike any I've ever taken - we did research on the history of urban renewal and then participated in a conference where we presented our work. Great experience.

US Business History. A few short writing assignments, mid-term essay and final take-home essay. Lectures and discussions were real good. Wants us to talk about the material. More business majors should take this course.

Upper level Immigration History course this Fall term and it connected the long history of immigration in the U.S. and Massachusetts to current issues, esp. refugee resettlement. A lot of reading and discussion and a few papers and a mid-term exam. Like the class a lot.

Took him for History Since 1877. Said that we would be doing 2 tests and 1 paper. Ended up doing 3 papers. Really tough grader on the papers. Easy class to pass but very tough class to get an A in. If you want a B, take him. Attendance isn't mandatory.

He was a very nice guy. He asks you to get 6 books and you do not necessarily need them. No test, just papers. He is tough on grading, so make sure you're good writer if you want to do well. Gives extra credit which only helps minimally. Usually I'm considered a good writer, but I received all B's on my papers. If you want a B, take this class.

I'm not a history major, but I really enjoyed this class. He is super helpful and presents history in an interesting and interactive way. No tests, but 3 or 4 papers. He assigns readings but we never discussed them, they're to help with the papers. I didn't do any reading, I just skimmed for quotes, and I got an A on all the papers. Learned a lot!

Never liked history all that much but this class is lively and is making me think! Uses music, art, poetry, movies from the time period to help us figure out what it was like back then; even cartoons.

a good man. a passionate man. a man completely blinded by his politics and his version of the stories. Fair enough grader, just do as he says and you'll get a good grade. and as long as you can stomach his politics, he's super-nice and incredibly kind gentleman. but you really can't take what he teaches as 'true' at all.

I have very little interest in history but Prof Forrant is now one of my favorites. His class is engaging and he's an excellent lecturer, its never boring. He always gives exam reviews with a study guide. He genuinely wants his students to do well. He gives funny/easy extra credit questions and you get stickers on your test if you do well! haha

US since 1960: lots of history but keeps it moving along with lots of music videos, old commercials, political commercials. Exam review a week before exam and cares that we do well.

This class is ok. There's a lot of reading, so avoid if you want an easy-going semester. The material is fairly interesting but can be boring at times. There are 3 tests and one final paper. He gives a sheet that will help you prep for the test pretty well. Do the readings and study- you can get an A.
