He's good at knowing how much material to cover in class, though visual aids of some kind would help reinforce the lectures. My issue is with his marking - not only did he hand me the lowest grade I've had at U of T, his "feedback" reinforced my arguments but was framed as criticism. Something's not right there...

Hanks thinks very highly of himself, that is true. Unfortunately, the geek style is not compensated by any real intelligence. He was a bitter man when I took his class. Truly successful academics have more self-assurance. He has none.

EUR200 was one of the best courses I've ever taken, and Hanks was one of the best professors I've ever had, and by far the most helpful. The course is challenging, however, and this may explain the negativity of others.

Knowledgable about the subject. He is helpful. Very clear during his lectures. A lot of info to absorb but very interesting class. He will answer questions or anything you were unclear about. I would recommend taking classes with him.
