Comment:

Dr. Heyer, or Bob as we call him, is great at teaching Organic Chemistry. He seems a lot more passionate about this topic than he did for Chem I. He seems like a jerk at first, but that is because he is a bit awkward. Get to know him and you'll see he's pretty funny. Show him that you're interested in the topics, read, read, and read.

Nice man, will help if you ask but you have to show up for lab obviously. The class is hard but its chemistry. He is socially awkward but so am I haha, he is not intimidating though and lets you turn homework in late. No tests in his lab which is all i took. No "book" just his experiment booklet, not too bad. I hate chemistry but its not his fault

I took all 4 semesters of chem with Dr Heyer, very knowledgable, and presents material easily, if you need help ask for it, go to class, and be prepared. Wants students to show interest. 15 years after kirkwood and I still remember his classes and that he's a great teacher.

He is an AWFUL teacher. I just started this semester with him and immediately the first day he picked me out...of a class of 75... And continuously does it every single class now. First it was...what's the answer? No your wrong. Now he is starting to make rude comments and hurts my feelings on a daily basis. No one else in my class has this.

I love Bob as a teacher! He seems kind of stuck up and rude at first but once you get to know him and ask him question you will love him and find him very helpful. He likes when students ask questions. Then he knows you are actually interested in learning.

Dr. Heyer is very smart at what he does. I am a current student. He is very thorough in explaining all the concepts. If you have questions, he will answer. Getting to know him is a plus. YOU MUST ATTEND CLASS AND LAB! Do your homework. Tests are worded in a challenging way. If you put in the hard work, you will do fine. I currently have a B.

Dr Heyer isn't the most socially adept guy I've ever met, his clumsiness can make him come off like a jerk. Get to know him and you'll see that he's really funny and helpful. The course is challenging, but the grading scale is cake. It's curved, an A- is an 85-87%, just hope that your classmates are underachievers.

Bob is a smart guy and is willing to help you if you ask, however his lab manual is near impossible to understand. I think he would be better teacher higher level chemistry classes rather than intro level. He seems like jerk at first, but if you treat him with respect he will do that same for you.

Dr. Heyer was a good professor. Overall, the material is not difficult but there are a few challenging hw problems and lab sessions. If you come to class regularly, do your hw and prelabs, he will help you with questions. I don't think he cares for the loudmouth smartalecs, don't act like you know it all and you will get along just fine.

Definitely not a fan. Even if you approach him with your questions, he typically gives a quick answer and brushes you off. I worked incredibly hard and showed interest and care for my grade but I must not have passed his "standards" as a student-By the by, he has a lazy eye. It gets confusing as to if he's looking at you or the person next to you.

This professor is selective to whom he is helping. If you didn’t meet his stereotypical criteria he is useless. He likes to make fun of students and play weired games (he is quietly staying behind in the labs and watching/listening when you don’t expect it). In general, if these facts can be ignored it is possible to get some use out of it.
