He can be extremely rude. I had a bad experience with him. However, the tests are based completely on the book and lectures so, if you have a tough skin this class is probably an easy A.

Dr. Hunt is an extremely smart guy. Most of all you can see during his lectures that he has passion for what he does! He's always willing to listen to a student's concerns and will help you if you don't understand the material. But he wants you to come to class and try! Most of all he has a way of making the material interesting!

Dr. Hunt is an excellent professor. His lectures and very interesting and effective in terms of helping you understand the material. He teaches well and reviews what is on the test. As long as you read and show up to class you should have no problem getting an A. He is also very friendly and a tad funny. Take him if you can.

Comment:
Dr. Hunt's lectures are amazing because his explanations of the theories proposed by Hobbes, Locke & other theorists helped me to understand the info. Theories mostly from the 15th - 19th centuries are analyzed in the Early Modern Political Theory class. The rights & liberties we enjoy today came from the ideas of these theorists from the past.

This guy is awesome, always willing to help and his classes are never boring. He may lecture on and keep you the entire time, but what he says is interesting and necessary as everything on the exams is directly taken from the lectures. I have taken him twice now and if I wasn't about to graduate I would take him again.

From reading many Supreme Court cases, other texts, and writing 4 papers for American Constitutional Law(WE) you'll learn that the Supreme Court wields much political power. Dr. Hunt at times criticizes Obama, the Clintons, and some other Democrats & then says "I'm only joking". Since he is a conservative he does believe what he says.

I learned in his American Political Theory class how different political philosophies (ex. conservatism, liberalism) have changed over time since our nation's founding. The recently published book he used was insightful because it contained speeches, letters, essays, and excerpts from books written by people who's pol. thought changed America.

Dr. Hunt is a great professor and a great guy. He has long lectures but they mostly go off topic a lot of the time. He only gives three exams and an extra credit. You will do just fine in this class as long as you read the textbook for the exam's.

In his American Con. Law: Civil Liberties class I was surprised to learn how much longer it took for the Supreme Court to protect our rights from actions taken by State governments than by the Federal government. Hunt is a nice, friendly prof even though he may interrupt you if you state opinions which conflict with his political beliefs.

Dr. Hunt is very knowledgeable about poli sci and doesn't rush through the topics because he wants to make sure that everyone understands them (thus the long lectures). He keeps the class entertained with his jokes & comments about sports. However, at times he talks too much about movies. If you study for the 3 exams you'll do well. Take him!

Long lectures but really an easy class. He tries to make it as interesting as he can with jokes. If you take good notes you won't need the textbook. Really isn't that bad.

I had him for American Political Theory and I really liked it. The students learned how the ideologies of activists & politicians guided their political actions. We spent 3 days on the Puritans which was too much because during the semester we studied a 400 year time span. There were 3 exams (1 take home), no papers. I definitely recommend him!

In Hunt's senior seminar there were 3 assignments: a short paper,a term paper, and a presentation. The subject that semester was the theory and practice of religious freedom in the US & around the world. His expertise in Catholic political theory helped us grasp aspects of the topic. He should teach a course solely about Christian political theory.

I took Dr. Hunt's class for the intro to political science. It's a really boring topic and he tries to make it interesting by telling a few jokes here and there. He loves to talk and his lectures are super long and definitely not right to the point. However if you manage to stay awake and take notes you shouldn't have to look through the textbook.

I acquired a wealth of knowledge from having taken his American Constitutional Law class. It was fascinating to learn about the many ways that judges interpret the Constitution as well as the Supreme Court's relationship with Congress & the President. I had to write a judicial decision of a hypothetical case & it was fun. I recommend him!
