I dont like history, so I found his class pretty boring. He only gives you a basic outline, so you're taking notes non-stop. He's kind of funny sometimes, and he's a nice guy. Your grade totally depends on your TA. Make sure you do the readings before your discussion class because if they quiz you they expect you to know details. It was an ok class

Not a really interesting class, took 109 w/Bowman and found it way more intruiging. This guy has a really dry sense of humor and it bored me, but a lot of people thought he was funny. The book won't do a lot for you but make sure you read the book for t.a. sec's and take EVERY note. Easy B.

Ha listening to Ireland give his lecture is like listening to Ben Stein on those contact commercials. Boring, but can be interestingly funny. Irleand knows what he is talking about. His tests are essay form, so if you can't write well, don't take his HIS class or any HIS class for that matter.

Dr. Bob is great, you have to attent the lectures and lab. He gives you the essay questions in his syllabus and the answers to them come directly from his lectures. He is an awesome teacher and pretty funny!

573 is a tough class, but you can make it easy by participating in class 5 times (20% of your grade). Other than that there are 2 tests (midterm and final). For midterm, you can guess that theres going to be some sort of question about Marshall/Taney and the final is a little more vague on the essay choices, but was still alright. I got an A.

Man if you have ever seen Ferris Bullers day off this guy is an identical replica of Ben Steins character he speaks in a monotone voice and the class is boring It requires a lot of reading but you are given the essays in the syllabus for the test and the IDs are in the reading.. nothing tricky but not an easy class

This is my 2nd class with Ireland. I liked his 100 level because he was easy to follow and it was a pretty easy grade. My class with him now is a pretty hard class- requires A LOT of studying. However, I think he is a great professor. He's always willing to talk to you in his office and help you out. He's also really funny.

Dr. Bob really knows what he is talking about. He is sometimes hard to listen to, but your TA should help out. If you have a question, dont waste your time asking him. He won't answer. The tests are straight from his notes so make sure to got to class.

i really didn't mind this class at all. yes, you have to go to lecture and take really good notes. i took my laptop to class so it made everything organized and easy. it was great because he basically gives you all of the exams on the first day, its all up to you to memorize the stuff. i enjoyed it and would reccommend it

He does know his subject very well, but his lectures are not the most awakening thing. I would try and take his class as late as possible, and take very good notes. Do not miss a class. Make sure you know how your TA's grade as well.

I love Dr. Bob. I think he is hilarioius. He knows this material like the back of his hand and his lectures always have some sort of slant, which I always like. Your grade is totally up to your TA though so you have to go to recitation and suck up but its worth taking bc class is seriously stand up comedy on history somedays.

He was very funny, especially when a person's cell phone would go off. I agree with not buying the main textbook, all you really use is the book with the i.d.s in it. Write out the answers to all of the essays before hand and you will have no problem getting an A.

Dr. Ireland is one of my fave profs at UK. Going to class was like listening to my grandfather tell stories of his childhood. You definitely have to be a good note taker for this class. Study the IDs and all but one essay and you'll do fine. Go to class too because copying someone elses notes will only get you halfway there! This is one of the easiest classes you'll have at UK...so enjoy it!
