I took Professor Laney's music appreciation class and he is definitely the best teacher I have had at Weatherford College. His lectures last all class but if you're a music lover this class will be a breeze for you. Unless you have good retention than I highly recommend taking notes during lectures as his test question come from the lectures.

At first I was not impressed with him. That changed allot, and it is hard to earn my respect, and he earned my full respect. The testing is fair and the interaction between the professor and the class makes it an easy to learn in environment.

Incredible choir teacher. He loves what he does and is passionate about it. He can come across as being harsh. But he truly just wants the choir to be its best. He occasionally will single people out, but he wouldn't do it if he knew that person couldn't fix the problem. I didn't know I could sight sing until I took this class! Highly recommend

Awesome class, Awesome teacher. Definitely take music appreciation if you have time! No surprises on the test, and he makes the class fun and interesting. He does get miffed if you text/talk on phones, so be respectful and put them away.

Mr. Lanely definitely makes class interesting. I'm glad I enrolled in this class. No homework, just 4 tests. I had to miss 2 classes for a funeral and he was understanding and had no problem catching me up. Great instructor and knowledgeable

I took his night class which was 3 hours long! But it was still awesome. It was very fund and interesting. I loved it. He's a great music teacher. I am not musically inclined but this class was awesome. I learned a lot. He gives you a review and its the exact same thing on test. no surprises

Had to take this class, but glad I did. Extremely interesting lectures over the history of music. Tests were medium-easy, you MUST STUDY if you want an A. Show up for a mandatory concert, it's free anyways and it was fun to attend. Intelligent man with good music choice. Study the NAMES above all else. You will match names to their works! Take him!

The funnest class of my semester. He gives 4 or 5 tests which are easy as long as you study your review sheet. Very interesting class. You must attent 1 concert. It's mandatory. GREAT CLASS. GREAT GUY. I highly recomend taking this class, you will learn alot more than you expect.

He is a great teacher. Just attend class regularly and take notes. Passing is a cinch. An A should be easy. Don't forget to attend a Weatherford College music performance. This is required for the class. It is in the sylabus, but it just gets overlooked.

Pretty much the best teacher you could ask for in terms of music theory and musicianship. He's not afraid to be blunt, and that's a good thing because it shakes you out of complacency and weeds out those who aren't serious.
