ARCH 331-PrehistoryBC All Rob wants to know is that you learned something from his lecture. Make sure you spend some time memorizing the map he covers in the beginning of the lecture for the map quiz. Midterm and final are easy. Just write everything you learned from the lecture and try to make them relevant to the questions, and you will do great!

This class is a 5 credit course, and you can definitely tell. He doesn't give you a lot of information for the quizzes and they are really tough. Assignments are okay but also graded quite hard. A very dry course. He is not the friendliest and not very approachable.

Interesting topic. Not an Arch major, just an elective. Watched documentaries once a week which were actually helpful. The book was somewhat helpful. Attend lectures, although they may be boring at times. Bob is open to questions about the exams and what not. TA took it a little too seriously though when marking. Good class to learn a bit!

Bob isn't the most interesting lecturer, but then he isn't boring either. Definitely average. He didn't provide a lot of criteria for the assignments and therefore I found myself sending him a lot of emails with questions. He was pretty easy when it came to marking for participation and helped prepare you for the midterm. Overall not a bad guy

Muir was okay, but his choice of TA was terrible. Very rude and not willing to help and made that clear. I worked so hard in this class and think the prof should go over some of the marking before he uses her again.

His TA marks hard on the essays, more emphasis on grammatical errors >.> He has the boring voice ever...

If you don't even have a remote interest in archaeologist, do yourself a favor and stay away from this course. Muir generaly has the "I hate teaching" and the TA marks way too hard. Doesn't help the fact there's no tutorials in this course for assignment help.

He seems like a nice guy, but he's a boring prof. He has a monotone voice, often stares at the ground while lecturing, and generally seems bored to be here. I had taken ARCH 100 with a different prof and it developed my interest in archaeology-but that was soon gone after taking this class. I wouldn't recommend taking a class with him at all.

He seems to find teaching a chore. He sighs loudly as he presents each slide. He also leaves each lecture early when he plays a movie. (It's embarassing.) Furthermore, does anyone else find it audacious and even immoral that he is asking a class of 30-odd students to write a paper that affirms his relevancy as an archaeologist?

Bob is an amazing prof! I loved the set up of his lectures and the labs were pretty much crystal clear, you can tell her has been teaching a long time but thats what makes his classes so structured and organized.

Very clear and helpful. I found his notes useful when studying for tests. Also, he doesn't pick on you if you're quiet and don't like speaking up in class.

Anyone who says anything bad about bob isn't in his class to learn. The amount of work bob does a semester could not be done by any other prof except for him. Yes.. he looks like he hasn't slept in 10 days all the time, but just shut up and listen to him and you'll learn he has a lot of important information you can learn.

Some of the material in ARCH 100 are interesting, but some are dull. The quizzes are not that easy. To do well you have to understand his lecture notes well. There are lots of places and names that you need to know. If you are good at memorizing places, names, and some dates, then this course is good to take.

Easy prof. If you are lazy and don't want to study, this is a great course, provided you can stay awake in lecture. If you listen, you will be ready for his tests without any studying. Course is very easy, everything is linked together. Easy to score an A in the course. Material a bit dry, but overall not bad
