The quiz and tests were a bit challenging to study for, since the class was so lecture heavy. There was also a 2500-word final paper that wasn't too difficult. The subject matter of the lectures was rather dull, but Professor Munman was clearly passionate about what he was teaching. If you're expecting an easy class, look elsewhere.

Munman is so passionate and really knows what he's talking about. I would NOT recommend taking his class if you are looking for an easy A, it is very difficult - a lot of memorizing and note taking during lectures & a lot of writing. He is an extremely tough grader. I would only recommend this class if you are truly passionate about art history.

Prof. Munman is an exquisite professor with true mastery of his field. But, one must be prepared to take his class. You must the best note-taker because his lectures are just slides of the artwork. On his exams he wants you to use his lectures as evidence for the point you're making. He does focus on the material in class, not student questions.

I suggest you only take this class if you are truly really passionate for Art History. Otherwise, you might find yourself struggling with this class, because Prof Munman is extremely passionate about the subject and expects you to put in a lot of time and effort to learn. He grades tough. He REALLY knows what he's talking about.

This was an art history class. He lectures with powerpoint, but his slides never have more than a picture (maybe a label here and there). His exams are essay exams and he expects example paintings and sculptures to be mentioned. If you can take good notes and remember examples from different artists andor time periods you should be okay.

Professor Munman is an enthusiastic lecturer about art. You have to pay attention to his lectures in order to do well on the essay tests. He grades you based on them, making him a tough grader when you write about anything else. He gives you a lot to read, which is helpful in understanding the lectures.

You really have to learn what he is teaching because he takes off points when you don't mention every aspect of an answer he discussed in class.

He is really passionate about art and about teaching. He knows just about everything, but he also expects a lot from the students (I am NOT talking about 110) the exams are difficult and the paper is long. I absolutely recommend his classes if you are willing to put in the work.

Prof. Munman really is passionate about the subject and is very approachable. Going to class is highly recommended. I missed one class and missed out on a lot of the specific info he stressed. Textbook isn't really necessary to do well in the class. Two midterms, a paper, and a final exam. Good to have an interest in art for the class.

Ok so here are my tips for this class. Although Prof. Munman is a really nice person and very passionate about art history, lecture is going to get boring and your going to want to fall asleep because the room is nice and warm and dark hahah but what I did was literally write down every single thing he said, it works! Hard class but interesting

He is a great lecturer and he explains everything pretty well. However, his exams are very hard! You don't know what to expect and each exam changes.2 midterms,1 research paper and a final. He does not curve your grade so even with all the readings I did and the grades I took in every exam I ended up with a C. And this is my first C ever!

I got an A in this class only because I had taken Art History AP in high school. There is a lot of material to memorize, making exams difficult unless you study A LOT. Munman gives interesting informative lectures that are worth attending, but sometimes your time is better spent staying home and reading the textbook because it goes more in depth.

Munman is a great professor and really knows his stuff, but I would not recommend this class to a freshman. There's a bit of a workload when you study. And I also never spoke personally with him once. All discussion of tests, papers, etc are done through the TAs. Good class, though. Very interesting. Just difficult.

Munman is a great professor, art history is a lot to memorize though so it's a fairly difficult class. grade is 3 tests and a paper. i worked extremely hard and went to EVERY class and still got a B (no curves). but since i went to class i never had to read the book...

This Professor is very very smart! Most people dont know that he graduated from Hsrdvard and that many of the picture slides were taken by him. The one thing that sucks about this class is that you need to memorize a lot of dates and names..other than that the tests are essay based and there is a paper. The material is actually very interesting!
