He is quirky, boring & I never had a clue what he was talking about. To this day I could not tell you what the functional & conflict theories are based on his many definitions. Test questions are long & wordy-you have no idea what it's asking even if you know it. I have never in my life fallen asleep before in class until I met him.

I took this professor for 2 classes. I really don't see what everyone complains about. He can be boring in the style he talks, but the subject content he presents is always interesting. His tests are a little hard, but this is college! The tests simply weed out who is paying attention and who isn't. He is on my top 5 professor list at WCU no doubt!

Horrible Teacher. He tries to trick you on the tests with the way he words questions. He doesn't teach from the text book at all and tests you on movies that he never showed in class. Don't take his anthropology class

He repeats himself but is a great teacher nonetheless. I think I heard him say "We don't need all this STUFF" 64 times. He also frequently brags that he shops at T.J. Max and relates everything to the Pink Floyd song "Us and Them". The content of the course was great, though.

If you like listening to someone talk, and talk, and talk some more, then this teacher is for you. He hardly gives notes, but gives TONS of readings that are not clear at all. Then he tests on material that he never taught...READ THE BOOK! Curves tests though... gives huge project that in my opinion was not needed.

Intelligent man, passionate about his field. Personally I think he should be teaching upper level anthropology course with students more passionate about the subject. Lectures can be boring. He grades on a curve because material isnt covered in an interesting way that students retain. I would rather learn interesting material than get an easy A.

I'm not sure why this guys rating isn't higher, it's an easy class. If you read the text, usually 1 chapter a week, you should have no problem getting an A. And for the person that said curving the tests didn't really help your crazy, he curves very generously.
