Dr. Richardson is one of the best professors I've ever taken. 242 is a super difficult class for a lot of people but he really cares and if you ask questions will explain it all to you in more detail. He even convinced me to switch to an accounting major because of this class. 242 sucks sometimes but if you can, take it with him.

Easily the best professor I have had so far. Will stop everything to answer your questions and makes sure everyone in the room understands a topic before moving on. Do whatever you have to do to fit him into your schedule, makes a tough subject digestible.

Dr. Richardson is awesome. Audit is obviously a hard course, but he made it entertaining and pleasant-- even for an 8am section. His tests are no where near easy and require a lot of memorization, but he really makes sure you know the material. Whatever you do, GO TO CLASS! Tests are mostly lecture-based, and don't bother buying the textbook.

There is no better auditing professor out there. HE WAS BORN TO TEACH THIS. Really. His energy, passion and commitment to his students and his family made me really love being his student. Thou shalt work hard and thou shalt memorize a lot in order to earn a good grade in his class. My only complaint is that the textbook was barley used.

Dr. Richardson is clearly passionate about auditing, which makes lectures very enjoyable. He has great stories and is very entertaining. You will need to memorize all his slides and understand them to do very well on his tests. The tests will require literally rewriting pages of information. His class will help you extensively on the CPA.

Richardson is genuinely there for his students. He's incredibly well-prepared each class & is more than happy to answer everyone's questions. His tests are fair, but he loves "throwin you the occasional curveball" on them to ensure you have a well-rounded understanding of each concept & how they relate to each other. Loved his "commercial breaks"!

Was not much help outside of the classroom. You are given book work before each class and go over it for the entire class. Funny guy. If you show up to class, do the homework, and rehearse it. You should do just fine. Would have been an easy A for me but I did not do these things :(

Doesn't really teach, just goes over hw. Sucks to teach everything to yourself the night before, but the next class he clarifies it. His class was mideasy but didn't prepare well at all for the final exam. Got A's on all his exams but barely got a C- on the final. I Wouldn't take if you actually need to learn the accounting material for your major.

Really nice guy, however he stinks at teaching. His idea of teaching is you doing homework every class an him going over it. You teach yourself the material. Pointless to go to class if you already have the textbook answers. If you enjoy teaching yourself Accounting and don't mind receiving homework EVERY class, then this is the teacher for you.

Seriously best professor in all of COB. Somehow makes hilarious stories of family relevant to audit and is able to explain things so clearly. You have to memorize a bunch but his tests are fair and he is so nice and helpful if you go to office. Literally was meant to teach this class - couldn't have asked for better.

After 241 and 242 I know accounting definitely isn't for me, but richardson was the best for teaching it. Always available to help, incredibly approachable and loves to talk about his family in class which is a nice 2 minute break. Before tests there's a thread on bb that helps tremendously. The material's difficult but he's here for you

I LOVED PROF. RICHARDSON! COB 242 is a hard class but he does his best to teach it. The tests are a bit challenging but you have partner quizes and regular quizes that help to bring up your grade. I would take him over any other accounting professor at JMU, and he is always willing you help you learn the material! TAKE HIM!!!

Alright I HATE accounting. Absolutely hate it. I was failing Richardson's class after fall break. I talked to him helped me with everything in class. I ended up getting a C in the class all because of his help. I just got done with COB 300 and I still go by his office just to talk and say thank you. He is the best PROFESSOR at JMU

He is so helpful and cares so much about his students and goes out of his way to make sure everyone understands the material. Go to class, read the book, go to his office hours - you'll get an A.
