Dr. Sawrey is a good teacher. He lectures every class with no powerpoints so make sure you take notes. The book reviews are a pain but he gives hints. no exams just writing assignments and gives extra credit

Dr. Sawrey is a great guy and makes his class easy. 2 book reports and 4 small writing assignments (no tests) is all he requires. He also offers insane amounts of extra credit. This is an extremely easy A but you won't learn too much about history aka wars, presidents, that stuff. He mainly gives his opinion on America and talks about random things

Totally take this professor if you get the chance! I loved this class. It was super easy. Attendance isn't necessary, but if you do come to class, feel free to take a nap. As long as you do the book reviews, 3 out of 4 of the writing assignments, and some extra credit, you will get an A. He's really funny and a super awesome guy!

He's basically the man. You don't really have to come to class to write a decent paper on his prompts. He "doesn't believe in tests" so that's always a plus. Also he's really nice and funny. Just do your book reviews and do some extra credit & you'll be fine!

Don't even bother buying the textbook, just get the books for the book reviews. Writing assignments are easier if you pretend to agree with what he says because he doesn't give you the means to disagree in your notes. Really nice guy though, always willing to help.

Funny HST professor. His clas is by no means hard. 3 writing assignments and 2 book reviews, is what i've had to do for his class. He gives out extra credit for attending events (I didn't do extra credit). Non mandatory attendance. I don't like History, & an easy History class, makes it even better! Highly recommend him!

Nice man, no attendance required, but the tests can be tricky. There are only 3 tests, including the final, and there is 6 weeks, 4 weeks, and 6 weeks of material to memorize for each of the tests, respectively. He lectures from memory, not from notes, so he goes very fast and is sometimes a little scattered when lecturing. Lots of extra credit!

Great class. There are 2 book reviews that can be tricky if you're not used to writing, but they are a maximum of 3 pages each, so they aren't too bad. Tests are blue-book. He gives 8 terms and you pick 4, 3 essays and you pick 1. LOTS of extra credit. He's a bit dry but he tries to be funny at times. Tests come from lectures, NOT TEXT BOOK!

He is a nice man. The tests are all blue book essays pretty much, so you should go to class or do the reading. Also a little unorganized with his grading, so stay on top of your grades and keep everything he hands back. I would take him again.

Dr. Sawrey is an AWESOME history prof. Unitl I took his classes, I had no interest at all in history. He doesnt require you to come to class, HOWEVER--you cant really get a good grade on test unless you do!! He gives you the ability to have about as much extra credit as you are willing to do. You have to be a complete idiot if you dont get an A!!
