Great teacher. She really knows her biology. Attend class and take good notes, you have to memories lots of facts for her quizzes, test, but shell let you know what to read. She cares for her students.

Comment:

Berlani is a sweet lady, but as a professor, I wouldnt take her again. Cell bio is one of the hardest classes & she didnt have anything graded for 3 months. We went into the final not knowing our grades & had to hope for the best. Took her a month to grade each exam. Didnt feel like my hard work was appreciated.

Comment:

Cell Bio is a hard class but, she gives extra credit on every test plus make ups at end of semester. You MUST read the chapter before coming to lecture or you'll be totally lost. Lovely lady, funny, passionate, brilliant and shes really approachable. Work with friends to complete test study guides, mine were usually 35+ pages. gotta work for an A

Robie is one of the most enthusiastic and passionate professors I've met. Even though this class is incredibly hard, she structures the class in a way that will really help you learn a lot. She TRULY cares for each student and wants everyone to succeed. She doesn't try to trick anyone on the tests, so just follow her study guide. AMAZING CLASS!!

She is passionate, which makes the class more interesting. You have to memorize A LOT. Tests are basically just drawing metabolic cycles and other cellular processes. Study a week in advance for a test so you can fit in everything. There is extra credit on the tests. Labs are not too hard. She gives quizzes as well, (not pop quizzes).

BRILLIANT lady w/ such a passion for bio. Amazingly interesting class & she REALLY prepares you for biochem. I did stuff in class nobody at UC's did until biochem!! PROBLEM: she bores you to death. don't go to lecture, you won't catch a thing & will fall asleep. she talks for hours on end about useless things and her pastime (idc, sorry).

cell biology is very hard class. she makes it easy with giving lots of extra credits. she doesn't care about attendance in lecture but lab attendance is mandatory. she is very hard in gardening.

Dr. Berlani is an awesome instructor. You will learn a lot if you study hard. If you have to take upper division courses, such as biochemistry or genetics, at a 4-year then this class will help you in so many ways. Please do study ahead of time and do your best to learn. I swear, it'll help for future study. Dr. Berlani will help you excel.

Robie is an amazing instructor to have for lab! She is not only witty and down to earth, she is super helpful. The only way you wouldn't pass this class is truly by not going to lab and doing your work.. Her quizzes range from super easy to somewhat challenging. However, she gives lots of extra credit opportunities

I had Dr. Berlani for her lab class and she made it a very enjoyable experience. She is extremely witty and kept everyone's attention. Every week there is a quiz on the precious week's lab. These quizzes can range from average to difficult, but if you do not study you are sure to fail the quiz. There are many extra credit opportunities though.

I dislike bio, but Professor Berlani makes this class super enjoyable and fun. She has a great sense of humor and is willing to help you whenever you need it. Lenient on some things, really wants her students to pass her class. She's a great professor -- I almost wish I took her for lecture as well.

Roberta is a wonderful instructor. I had her for the Lab section of Biology. She is very helpful during the labs and seems to be genuinely excited by her chosen career. She gives a quiz every lab day, so be prepared to test what you learned the week prior. Show up, do the pre-labs, participate in the lab. You will have no problem. Best bio teacher.

She's so sweet and a very easy grader. Just show up and do the lab and get lab points. She offers tons of extra credit and is pretty funny. We got out early basically every week. There are weekly quizzes based on the lab from the previous week. Overall, great teacher and wants all students to succeed in her course.

Robie is basically, amazing. I loved her class so much, and I miss it dearly this semester. Lectures are a bit tough but she answers questions. This is a class that you need to READ the book. I read the entire book and got an A, but I worked very hard. Tests are also quite challenging if you don't know the material. I'm most proud of this grade! :)

I can't stress my enthusiasm for Robie enough! She's an outstanding professor with a passion for the subject. She is extremely fair and does her very best to help her students. Her exams are designed to help students succeed by showing what they know. Her class is difficult and requires large amounts of dedication, but overall soo worth it!
