If you are looking for a teacher who will give you an easy A this is not the professor for you. She is a very tough grader but made me a better writer for sure. Lots of reading and assignments due but I am very prepared for Comp II

I love love love her she's awesome and will make you a better writer without having to write a million papers! She's really understanding and I don't know how anyone could not like her class. I'm a science major so english isn't my thing but she definitely had a positive impact on me. I had her for Comp 1 and just registered for her Comp 2 class.

This professor is not scared to drop your A paper to a B- over a few grammatical errors. She tends to bring in her own personal opinions into topics and from fellow classmates we have concluded she tends to grade your paper better if you lean towards her side. Proceed with caution if writing is not your favorite thing.

Comment:

She is a super hard grader, and drops letter grades on papers for little things. Overall, she drove me nuts, and would say something different every time I met with her, so it was hard to decipher quite what she wanted most of the time. The 3 words you need to know for her class are politics, perseverance, and more politics. Good Luck.

Great teacher, she is old school but as long as you show up to her class and give your best effort she will appreciate that and it will show in your grade. She calls you out if you are lazy and don't show up to class, so beware. With other students she was very flexible with due dates.

Professor Zehner was by far the hardest grader I've encountered so far. I'd only recommend her if you are smart and hard working. While she is difficult she will make you a better writer. But beware, she will talk about politics almost every class and single you out if you speak up.

PSA TO HIGH SCHOOL AP STUDENTS: AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Coming out of high school as one of the top English students, this class only confused and brought my writing down. I knew everything about a research paper and STILL couldn't understand what the heck she was saying. Crazy old woman. Too many times I contemplated escaping through the window.

She thinks it's a law class. Everything you write about will have to do with some sort of law. She always talks about her son and she definitely has her favorites. You always have to rewrite your papers and it is nearly impossible to get the paper the way she wants. She always grades by acceptable and not acceptable. I would not recommend her.

Do not take her class. She is a horrible grader and will make you rewrite your essays over and over. If it's under a B you're forced to rewrite it. Her grading scale is ridiculous (a 90 is a B) and she always contradicts herself. The phrase "If this was a law class" is one you'll be really familiar with.

This teacher changes her mind about what she expects out of an assignment from class to class, making completing the assignment the way she wants it nearly impossible. Be sure not to have any opinion at all, because she will shoot it done. Also, dont make any plans for the rest of the semester because her "maximum of two papers" are actually 10.

The assignments that she gave were not difficult, but once she graded them she told everyone to redo them, as well as changing her mind. She was condescending, talked way too much about hot button political issues, and was very rude if you expressed your opinion in class.

The actual assignments are not difficult to write, but the way that she teaches the class is like pulling teeth. If she's not talking about political issues, she's teaching how to summarize or alphabetize things. She can be very condescending. Her grading is confusing and it can be difficult to understand what she expects of you.

Professor Zehner is a teacher who cares a lot. She will spend some classes going over grammar and will assist the entire class in making outlines for her essays. I usually enjoy my writing classes but I dreaded going to her class. She was very boring and did not make any effort to make the material interesting. I did not find her writing critique useful and I did not get anything out of her class. Class time was usually wasted on trivial and nonrelevent material.

Her class seems like it's a lot harder than it has to be while you're taking it, but you find that it really does help. She is very condescending and puts people on the spot often so if you're easily offended by things like that, I would suggest taking someone else.

Mrs. Zehner seemed like a really nice lady but, she's not a good teacher. She tells you one thing and then expects another. She's a really hard grader, and has you write about harder topics than other professors. I would not recommend taking her class.

Very tough grader. Nice lady though. Even if she likes you she will tear apart your paper and make you do a revision. She also likes to talk down to the class like we are special ed. Takes forever to explain things. If you have a short amount of patience and an even shorter attention span, good luck.
