I have had Dr. Abney for three classes across my freshman year. She is a very caring professor, and if you become her friend by participating and meeting with her you should be just fine. She isn't very organized, but is very understanding. Show up for class, and don't buy the books, you wont need them. One of my favorite professors so far at SRU.

I had Abney for both Intro and Global SPMT. She's a very nice lady outside of class, however, she has been the worst educator I've had in my career as a student (thus far). Unorganized, unclear and unavailable (doesn't respond to emails). For Intro, you use the clicker one time the whole semester. I got an A in both, but did not deserve them.

Dr Abney in my opinion was awesome. i had her for 3 classes now. they were pretty easy but you have to do the work or you won't pass. she's little unorganized but if you pay attention to d2l that shouldn't matter. she's extremely kind if you take the time to get to know her. if you respect her she'll respect you. ask questions and participate.

Dr. Abney is a very nice person, but she is an unorganized and unclear. She expects you to act as professionally as possible which is not a bad thing, but losing points because I cannot afford a suit to do a presentation is unacceptable. I would recommend to stay away from her if you can.

Dr. Abney knows what she is talking about. She demands for your respect and she expects you to act in a professional manner at all times. If you respect her then she will respect you. I had her for intro and global; I did my work, went to class, and received a good grade. The only complaint I have is she is unclear with assignment.

Terrible professor.. So unclear with each assignment. Students are left with many questions and confused looks on their faces with each assignment. Doesn't explain anything well and thinks your dumb if you ask questions.. Reminder: PLEASE REFER TO THE SYLLABUS

Do not take Dr. Abney for anything. She is the most unclear professor ever. She will give an assignment and not explain what she expects from you so when everyone does it wrong she gets mad. She did presentations for finals week and I was supposed to present at 11:30 and sat in west gym for 6 hours and finally presented at 5:30. DO NOT TAKE!!!!!

The Sport Management Major at SRU is a joke as well as this class. She treats everyone in her class like there in High School and is unclear on everything. Tests are basically impossible and the Group Projects are very difficult. My advice is to get a one way ticket out of that major and choose a major that will actually help you get a job.

I find it funny, that some people think college should a breeze. Get a grip the world is tough, the SRU program is amazing and teaches you life long lessons. Anyway I go and tell people I got my Sport Management degree at SRU they know I learnt a lot. Take a look at the local sports team staff profiles and see where they went to college. Grow up!!

Dr. Abney is an awesome proffessor, yes she can be unclear at times. yes, she isn't the easiest person to follow, but she is the easiest prof in Sport management, EASIEST!!! Ask questions, do the work, take notes, I never used the book.

Ok, I don't have a full opinion on this because I dropped the class. I went to just one class last semester then dropped because of the redicolus requirements. Ok, just ONE absence? I was interested in the Sports Managment department here at SRU, but now I've totally changed my mind. Way too demanding! Too bad, cause this class sounded cool.
