He plays favorites a lot and his corrections are not helpful. He doesn't know his ballet terminology that well either which can be extremely frustrating if you have a ballet background. For me, I did ballet pretty seriously and his class wasn't that serious and he lets anyone try anything, even if they're not ready.

This is an intermediate class. If it is above your talent/skill level you will be frustrated! Rodger is the the most well-prepared and generous technique teacher I've had. He cares about each of his students and looks at us an individuals instead of some body that must fit a preconceived mold. He is brilliant, kind and we are lucky to have him!

Rodger Blum is insensitive, self-involved, and completely wrapped up in "the dance world." He has no respect for students who don't already have great technique, musicality, or strength. Thinks quite highly of himself. Irritating and short-tempered. Although I did find his barre and center combinations enjoyable as long as he kept quiet.

This is the best ballet class in the five colleges, hands down! His barre and center are lovely and logical. His corrections are excellent.The pianist is heavenly. And his sense of humor is fantastic. It is true he plays favorites, I've noticed.So what.It's still a terrific class, never boring, always learn something new.

Rude and snotty. Has favorites--definitely prefers grad students over trad. students. If you're not a dance major he automatically downgrades. Doesn't respond to emails or phonecalls. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU ARE NOT A DANCE MAJOR.
