Comment:
The class was hard, but Diaz himself was enthusiastic and tried his best to make it easy on us. If you are going to take this class, you will have to study your ass off, and even then, good luck. You will need it.

Professor Diaz is one of the most intelligent and enthusiastic professors here at ASU. EMAG is a very difficult and abstract topic, but I PROMISE you that your best bet for a good grade is with Diaz. He grades fair, gives bonus, and everything on test is in notes. Trust me take him. Avoid Pan/Saraniti. Especially if you want to actually learn.

Comment:
Professor does not know how to teach - to make up for it he posts hundreds of pages of lectures and creates elaborate grading scales. Homework is expected to take 8-12 hours a week, then you grade it yourself, correct it, and resubmit it. 1/3 of the class is failing (after the curve) and Diaz blames it on the extended withdrawal deadline.

Not great at all. Poorly manages class materials as well as his lab. Take classes from Aberle instead.

Comment:
Diaz is clearly a very bright guy, but he is not a very good instructor. His lectures are not very structured, in that you don't know what he'll talk about on a day to day basis, and his lectures don't closely follow the text. Also, in OH, Diaz was not very good in explaining the material. He seems more interested in his research than teaching.

Who says electromagnetics can be easy? Dr Diaz delves into the details and concepts behind electromagnetic phenomenon with great clarity and insight. Very helpful outside of class. Advice for his class: Listen carefully in class, if you don't understand, ask immediately.

He acts nice outside of class and smiles, but he is sorta a dickhead when it comes to taking his class.

Great Professor. Difficult subject but does a great job teaching it. Plenty of oppurtunities for extra credit and most students will end up with As or Bs. 3 midterms and a final.
