Get ready to participate in group projects almost every class. He is very knowledgeable, easy to talk to, accessible outside of class, ect. He responds to emails quickly. He grades assignments within a day or two of turning it in. Participation matters. He mostly has a clear grading criteria. Overall, I would definitely recommend this teacher.

Great professor and great class. I was introduced into fascinating topics and caused to reflect on my own views. The problem I had was the other students in the class. In my opinion many of them should not be in graduate school. They did not work hard in my project group but expected an A no matter what.

Dr. Durand is truly a gift to UHCL students. He is my favorite professor of all time. I've taken him for every mgmt course I can both face to face & online & have made an A every time. You will have learning checks & those are key to making an A on the exams. His courses are set up to help students make A's! Take him or you will regret it!!!

Took this class online and it's a lot of reading. He'll make power points for the lectures BUT don't depend on just that because not everything is in the power points. As long as you read, keep up with the weekly quizzes, participate in discussions, and DO YOUR WRITING assignments, you should be good. He gives extra credit chances.

I took this class online, it was easy as long as you did the work. The writing assignments weren't difficult. However, the 2 tests were difficult, definitely cram for them! He was very easy to contact and emailed back fairly quickly. He gave several opportunities for extra credit. He wants his students to get a good grades and succeed.

One of the best mgmt professors at UHCL. I have taken him for 3 classes and will be registering for my 4th. The first time taking him (it has a been a few years bk) I didn't take the class seriously which showed in my grade. If you just show up to class and listen you will be fine. Has learning checks that you can pass without book. Easy grader!!

Dr. Durand is the best professor at UHCL without a doubt!!!!!! He is so knowledgeable and passionate about everything he teaches. I've taken him for 2 MGMT courses and am currently enrolled for a course with him in the summer and the fall. Not only does he make class interesting and hands on, he's crazy easy. Go to class. Pay attention. Easy A+

Best MBA instructor I have had. He is interested in helping students; he bailed me out of a difficult situation in the class. He raised grades based on improvement over the semester. Challenging but not especially hard. The readings came from the web as well as from a textbook and from his notes.

This instructor really cares about students. There is a lot of feedback. But what I liked most was the hands-on learning of ideas through application exercises. Not easy, but not difficult either. Challenged my preconceptions.

I like the fact that we read assigned materials, reviewed major ideas in class, completed a "learning check" weekly on assigned readings, then did interesting applications of ideas. The learning checks were the bases for examinations. Grades on improvement. He challenges your ideas, but is not difficult.

This was a far better class than I expected. Readings are based on a text supplemented with very interesting materials from the web. Thoughtful questions are posed for students in discussion forums. The questions are the basis for essay exam questions. This guy really cares about students. He increases grades based on improvement over the term.

There are 2 tests (each worth 30% of final grade) with multiple choice questions (75% of exam grade) and an essay question (25% of exam grade). The essay question comes straight from the discussion questions. There are 10-12 discussions posted throughout the semester and you must answer 5 to receive credit (10%). Group paper is the remaining 30%

This is my third semester to take Professor Durand. His classes are informational and will give you insight into whatever topic you are discussing that day. His tests (he only gives two) are fairly simple and projects are clearly explained. He is willing to go above and beyond for you if you ask!
