Comment:

In the online class, there is a lot of homework assigned and paper writing. He gives clear grading instructions on what he expects and what type of work will get a certain grade. While it is tough and he does have high expectations, it is easy to get an A if you apply yourself.

Dr. Eich expects you to "be compliant", "do what is asked of you", "live up to assignment expectations" but does not clearly describe what is required for assignments. He insists that if you put in the time and what is asked of you that you will be successful but does a horrible job of explaining assignments. Do not take his classes!!!

Awful when it comes to grading. On countless occasions he would change assignments without alerting ANyone then complain when its not turned in. you basically have to teach yourself everything. The tests have NOTHING to do with what he talks about during class, the assignments suck, intro class is required to write a 12 page paper and presentation

We had to write an 18 page paper at the end of the semester and present many times, but this class prepared me for harder ones. Eich is a great guy, and I highly recommend taking his class.

Unless you want to do a bunch of papers and homework everyday, dont take his classes. If you take his class be ready to discuss anything and everything. Its mainly a discussion class with lots of work due in it.

I just started a class with Dr. Eich. I personally feel that he changed his Sociology courses dramatically just from last semester. He started doing a new thing called learning sessions which take course for 26 days. Which means 2 papers are due at the end of learning session. He takes class time to talk with his students and is willing to help.

Dr. Eich is a professor that shows you what a proper education and learning experience is all about. He takes the time to talk and lecture to his students and has a good sense of humor while teaching the class. There are papers to write but that is to be expected in a college level class. Take his class to learn and open your mind!

Dr. Eich really cares about his students. He will make you work for your grade, but will give you exactly what you're doing wrong to do better next time. He cares about his students and what they have to say. Personally, I really enjoyed SOC with him and sad it will be over. I would 100% recommend him to a friend. You have to be motivated.

You have a paper due every two weeks. Even if you answer all the questions he ask for in the paper, he won't pass you if you do not write a certain amount of words. He doesn't teach you, he just talks. He is a mean guy and only cares about papers.

I would not recommend taking a class with him. In the class I took with him he made me feel very uncomfortable and would single me out of the whole class. He is very rude and a harsh grader. He assigns papers that are 4,000 words and he expects way too much from an individual. I have never been treated so poorly by a professor.

Couldn't access online class for several days due to the school servers being down, and he only gave a day for several quizzes and a paper proposal. Then he sent a rude email blaming students for laziness.

I really enjoyed Dr. Eich. He is retired Marine so he is strict but fair. If you do the work it is an easy A. He explains how to do everything and even gives examples of what he expects, out of assignments. He is diffidently not a push over and does not tolerate late assignments. I really learned a lot from his class and found it very entertaining.

Nobody in the class is on the same page. Every two weeks a 4,000 word paper, only counting the words in your responses, and a research paper is due. Your whole grade is based heavily on the papers so if you don't like to work hard and write papers, good luck. Utilize his examples and email or call him for help outside of class to get a better grade

This professor was a self-centered Narcissistic than made the class revolve around himself. He was overly open with his personal experiences and expects you to be overly opened too. Overall the class was not terrible, just a terrible teacher where I learned nothing related to sociology.

Graded the entire course based on four "reflection" papers, three "discussion" posts, and ten small quizzes. The reflection papers are a joke. Minimum 10 page requirement where he says to reflect but then grades you as if it was a research project. Will show your classmate's work as "good" examples to make you feel worse about your own work. Bad. F

You can show up and pass his classes but beware, he likes to try to "be smart" and write his own tests. His wording is awful and it astounds me he has a PhD, which goes to show you that education is not a sign of intelligence. His grades for papers are subjective, meaning no real criteria is followed doing so. He does seem to care, however.

One of my best teachers. helpful to me a lot when I called and never made me feel stupid for calling. I worked in his class but I followed directions and scored high. He just asked you to follow directions and shows you what he wants. Strict but nothing crazy and his rules are fair to everyone. I recommend him if your not afraid to work a bit.
