Comment:

Talks all class long and chuckles at his own jokes constantly. Will talk in a low imperceivable voice all class long except when trying to choke through his clownish giggle. Journals and Quizzes are said to be optional but you'll have to do them in order to pass. The tests are HELL. AVOID AT ALL COST! ZzZzZzZzZzZzZ LAME!

Basically read short stories and poems. Didn't talk about myths. Makes you use blue books for tests, which take up the entire class and then some. The final was the longest I had ever had. If you like talking about poems and short stories then take him, if not avoid.

Comment:

One of the worst teachers I have ever had. He doesnt make things clear to understand, his hand writing is impossible to read, THIS IS A LIT AND MYTH CLASS, but no myth. The only thing he does is make you read about literature and i would be ok with that if I did not sign up for a myth and literature class. good luck on the final.

Tests are way too in depth, almost impossible. Knowing the basic plot, characters, and themes will not help you pass his tests. Not to mention, you have to buy a damn blue book all the time. If you don't put a huge amount of effort into this class you will not do well.

If you do the reading assignments you'll pass the class. The tests are fairly difficult, but if you've read the material and *participated* in the discussions in class, you'll be fine. Class participation does affect his grading, so don't be afraid to speak up. Also be aware that if he is really emphasizing something, a quiz is probably coming up.

This professor is terrible. Made you buy blue books for ridiculous essay tests that were way too long and were graded so harshly for such a freshman level course. Very very boring and will fail you even if you try and go to class.

This is one of the greatest teachers I've ever had. There is a lot of reading, but he goes over everything you read in class. Extremely funny man and overly nice. The only downside is when you watch horrible documentaries, other than that, Mr. Gillan is the man.

I found elit to be somewhat easy as long as you read the stories and participated in class. Gillian didn't ask much of us other than that.
