Great teacher! Wry sense of humor! Labs can be tough. Most are on your own. If you have snow days, work to catch up will be brutal towards end of that semester!

If you actually care about the topics its pretty interesting class. The tests are beautffully easy. I am a dumb student and got an A after starting off with a 78 on the test. The first few weeks are gonna be boring and your gonna be afraid of the class. But dont give up keep going the class just gets easier as you go.

It was a pleasure having prof o. He truly is a great professor and knows his material. He wants you to do good and pass. Study for the tests! He gives freebies, but still need to study, especially the definitions, which will help. A downside is he keeps you the entire 2 hours and 45 minutes! In the end, i promise you, it is worth it!

Opstbaum is a GREAT prof. You have every opportunity (extra credit) to pass and be exempt from the final exam. Attendance is not mandatory, but I would suggest showing up B/C he gives reviews for the test which include the questions that will be on the test. The lectures are long but there's a 15 min break in between. +office hours for Xtra help

He truly is a great astronomy professor. The only bad part is, you have to stay the entire 2 hours and 45 minutes in class. Although it is very very very boring, he is a good professor, plus he gives freebies on the exams, which is great. He gave out 36,46,44 points automatic on the exam. Compared to all of the science classes, this one is great

Had him for astronomy. Very interesting guy, does ramble on to the point of boredom but he's cool. Labs due nearly every week that range from hard to really easy, and tests have many freebies(questions he gives you answers to)Overall really cool guy with great knowledge and I got an A in his class with decent effort. Take him if you can very easy.

Lectures are very boring and you will be there for the full 2 hours and 45 minutes every class. Does labs in class with you and tells you exactly whats on the test. Lots of "freebees" on the tests. Corny jokes but you get use to them. If you can endure the suffering its worth it. better than bio and other sciences

The rare and precious element opstbaumnium is very great. Lectures are very boring because it's just him talking. Jokes are corny but you'll learn to laugh at them (with moderation) exams (sorry events) are fairly hard but lots of extra credit and freebies. One test had 58 points automatically. I recommend him and just tolerate the lectures.

A very nice man but do not ever dare to have an opposite view of the world. The insults fly. Easy A if you do it his way. Wear anything that says "Mets" and you're golden. Lectures are very boring, his jokes are terrible but he'd make a great grandfather. I didn't learn too much.

Very funny man, although his humor is a little dry and repetitive. Other than that he's a great guy and a great professor to have. Be warned you will sit in this class for the entire 2:45! But to be honest it could be worse, take him.

Ok....very boring but he gives you everything you need on tests and sooooooooooooo many extra credit. almost impossible to fail! Take it and suffer through a little boredom but get an A
