Make sure the TA grades your paper so you get an A because if he grades it you will get a B. But very passionate and inspiring. I changed from arch. to socio. just because of this teacher. You will never fall asleep in his class. They are worth your time and money. Really good looking too. *

the best anthro professor i have had, ever and im an anthro major. TAKE the STructuralism and Symbolism class....it is crucial for understanding so many other anthro classes! they all at some point or another use structuralism!! Rouse rocks.

This is the most amazing professor I've had. There were at least two reading assg. per wk but were intereting, although sometimes long. An easy class, a take home midterm and a final exam. PS he does have a nice accent but easy to understand. A++++ Recommmend!!!

Horrible. I can't believe all these comments! He was positively boring! He would spend 75% of the time telling us where we were going and yet we would never get there. He spends a great deal of time soap-boxing and leaves most of the real instruction up to the TA's. I got an A+ and hated him.

I really got help from the TA's more than him. If this is your first anthro be ready to have a dictionary in hand :) Will help though if asked to and the movies he offers really help with understanding what the hell he says in class.

He provides a view of the world that you won't get many other places and really changes how you see things. At the end of the class the readings really come together and the theoretical parts make sense. Lectures are interesting, give meaning to reading.

Roger Rouse is definitely one of my two favorite professors at UCD. He is enthusiastic, brilliant, and has a passion for his subject like few other teachers. He is definitely liberal, but lets you know this immediately, you get out what u put in.

A great professor with a lovely British accent, and a strong command of eloquence. (WARNING: His voice is more monotonish, which may lead you towards dream land.) Moreover, this man is hella smart...so you should take him if you want to really learn.
