Very knowledgeable and experienced with the material. He teaches this class like a 300 or 400 level and blames students for their failure. DO THE HOMEWORK, he says it is "optional" but you will fail without it. Expect to teach yourself a lot of the material and use the TAs. Homework will directly apply to the exams.

I can't Stress this enough, in ECE 112, DO THE HOMEWORK.He is more than happy to stay after class and explain everything in more detail if you have the time but if you don't ask questions he expects you to either know it or learn it on your own.

Great guy, very hard class. He expects that you understand EVERYTHING about everything in the class, homework was very difficult and time consuming, tests are just like the homework. The notes and lectures don't help much with the homework, so learning everything while trying to do the homework is very frustrating. Very tough class for 100 level.

Traylor is from the South and has a sense of humor. He only explains a little in lecture and expects you to figure out the homework yourself. His test problems are difficult so make sure you understand ALL of the assigned problems before you take a test.

I took ECE 112 with him so some the materials he taught returned for ENGR 201 for first 5 weeks of class. Things pick up afterward for engr 201. Traylor is an understanding professor, although he goes over easy problems in class and review, make sure you are solid on your understanding w/ the materials. He gives out tricky problems on his tests.

Awesome professor. He took a non-theoretical approach to the course, which made it extremely easy to follow and completely understand. Provides clear examples and creates a positive learning environment. He shows you what engineers really use, and even engineered (same hardware given to students) his own demo to prove concepts learned in class.

Simply put: Traylor is awesome. This course is structured extremely well and set at a pretty decent pace. Most of your grade is dependent on completing the lab project which makes this a great class if you're good at that sort of thing. Warning: The lab will bite you in the ass if you don't keep up with it, work ahead if at all possible.

Excellent professor for the introductory course. Midterm's and final were tough, but if you do your homework and do it right, you will do fine. Lab covers a huge chunk of the grade which is helpful. He teaches many crucial concepts that help for future ECE courses and covers some material in ECE 271 towards the end.

Very good prof, fun challenging class. Bring laptop to lecture and take notes in a non auto-correcting text editor, especially for scripts, you will need them in homework. No final exam. Roger responds to email very fast on days when homework is due. Textbook optional, but a must have for digital designers.

This is the third class I took from Roger and while he is a great guy, his expertise runs dry in the upper division courses. Perhaps my expectation for this class was high since Roger on VLSI design at Intel. Quite often he would stumble on examples in class and make mistakes/omissions in homework assignments. Grading was fair.

Simply put the best ECE professor at OSU. His classes are fairly challenging, but he is a very nice and approachable guy. I took every class I could from him and enjoyed every one.
