Comment:

One of my favorite professors to listen to. I enjoy Sociology so the class was interesting. Uses real life examples which help to understand the curriculum more. Take really good notes and fill out the study guide each chapter so you know exactly what will be on the quizzes. One quiz and a one page writing assignment per week. Over all, great class

Professor Blanchette is one of the best teachers I have had at Massasoit. He is very knowledgeable and is willing to assist any student in need. There is only 3 things he wants from his students. Arrive to class on time, be ready to participate and take notes. Not to mention you get to watch movies.

Such a great professor! Always willing to help you and his lectures are fun, not boring. You don't even need your textbook if you take notes. He knows what he's talking about and only tests you on what he's taught you. Papers are easy as well as quizzes which are both due weekly but very easy! He's very nice just don't be late, lol. Great guy!

Great professor. Brings his real life into lecture which is great. KNOWS his subject material. Depending on the class (I've taken two with him), Weekly quizzes, take notes, normally 1-2 long essays assigned as projects to complete throughout the semester. Ask him anything he is more than willing to help each student succeed.

Great professor with a lot of interesting stories. Don't ever be late! He is extremely organized and has his stuff together. There are 10 multiple choice tests and 10 1 page papers due throughout the semester of which he drops the 3 lowest grades of each. As long as you are there to take notes, you will not need the book. Final Q's taken from tests

Very nice guy and knows a lot about his subject area. Incorporates his real life experience into his lectures. However, I found him to be a very hard grader. His test cover ALOT of material. 10 multi. choice, 5 def. & 1 Essay. He also assigns everyone a country and expects a 20-30 page paper at the end of the semester.

Wow what a great professor! Very passionate and informed about his subject. Has lots of stories that relate to subject matter. Quizzes come right from practice guide and final exam is made up from all the quizzes. Easy class if you just take notes and DO NOT BE LATE... EVER! A few writing assignments, but he lets you submit early for feedback.

HE IS COOL BUT HIS CLASS IS SOOOOOO BORING!! his test are easy and stuff but he gets off topic alot and he tells a story every 20 mins for about 10 mins, so just picture how the class is. hes very strict on coming to class late, he hates it so dont do it! but other than that he grades very fair. and hes very nice and cool.

Made sociology so interesting I'm majoring in it when I transfer! Always makes himself available for any student. Out of 10 weekly quizzes, he drops 3 so you have a fair shot in case some areas aren't your thing. Will review the 3 papers over + over before due dates so no reason for bad grade in this class. He really cares about people + subject.

Didn't really know what I was getting into before i took this class but he is a good teacher. Just be on time for class! He comes in every day eager to get started. He gives a three tests and about three papers. He will look at as many drafts you send him and he will tell you what is on the test. I would recommend him for Anthropology.

Very nice, friendly, easy-going professor, always showed up to class with a smile. Knowledgeable and it shows that he absolutely loves to teach. Will critique and suggest improvements to any draft of a paper prior to submission. Many videos and physical props used to help explain concepts and maintain interest. Highly recommended.

Even if your not interested in anthropology, Professor Blanchette will engage you in everything he says! He uses a variety of teaching methods; including, lectures, pictures, live materials/objects, movies, and newspaper articles. Very animated and there's always a surprise-can't fall asleep in this class!
