(Math modeling) Tankelevich was a decent professor. Very funny, kind, and always willing to help. You HAVE to be awake in his class because he tends to draw graphs in the air. We all found that rather amusing.

I didn't have any problem understanding his accent. Every now and then he might say a computer science term differently than we do in the states, but it was never a huge issue. And as for helpfulness: I went into the class not knowing the language AT ALL (had transfer credit from High School using Java). I left with a firm grasp of C++.

Full disclosure: I came into this class as a much more proficient coder than most of the other students. Thus, I thought the challenge level was just right (I thought 261 was WAY too easy). I really appreciate Tankelevich's faster pace and overall knowledge. I'm looking forward to taking another of his classes next semester!

I took Roman's data structures class. He's a nice guy, but speaks with a heavy Eastern European accent. If you ask a question, sometimes his explanation does not answer the question you asked!

He really REALLY knows his stuff, and wants you to learn the material, but it's extremely hard to understand him. I had a hard time in this class, and I believe the only reason I passed was because I spent an extraordinary amount of time in his office after class. He's very willing to help you though. (The book sucks, or should I say "pamphlet")
