This is a great teacher!!!He makes you think outside of the box and then lets you write about it. The lengths of the papers are up to you and he doesnt grade harshly. The book we used was "out of the norm" and really strange...But maybe he's not using it anymore..

The best teacher i have ever had. he really didnt teach me anything, but rather he inspired me. For example we had a 5 page paper and i wrote 12. If you treat your soldiers with respect as soldiers they will go to war with you; if you treat them as sons they will die for you.

Betz was awesome! He's really into philosophy, but he keeps you thinking, and isn't that the point? He does not give many essays; what he wants in them is effort and interest. You pick your topics, except for the final. Definitely a cool teacher!!!:)

Very cool guy. Took him for both comp classes. Lectures are fun. Lets you write papers on most anything you want. Keep them simple but original. He is really into philosophy, I wasn't but the books he has you read are fairly insightful. I definately recommend him.

This guy is cool! I think he's a throw-back hippie from the 60's. The discussions in his class force you to think about things you wouldn't ordinarily think about. He's been an awesome teacher and has enriched my writing experience.
