Professor Gurkewitz is really sweet. Her powerpoints are really long and boring, but she takes times to explain things and makes sure students understand. You'll be fine if you take her. You don't really use the textbook because her power points have everything on it. As long as you do the exercises at the end of class and do well on the tests... which you can bring notes for and use google.

This Teacher just reads straight off the power point slides and expects us to be experts at what she just taught us. This class is not for Computer science majors and is hard for people taking this as part of their major requirements. The only thing that is good about this class is how much of an easy grader she is.

Rona has been extremely helpful and she is willing to help if I had trouble on a certain topic. The class is very interesting and I recommend this class to every Computer Science major.

Beyond incompetent! Makes us type in programs that do not work. Cancels class at least once a month. Had us create programs that are irrelevant and in programs such as office and power point. I asked if she could teach us stuff in word (we could get some use of it) and then told me that there would be no time. Do not waste your time with her!

Cancelled class too many times, found that her only 2 areas of knowledge are oragami and LISP. When you challenge her to actually do her job, she starts barking about how she has tenure. No teaching skills. Doesn't even have a Ph.D. If student reviews had any affect on her future, she would have lost her job 10 years ago. Bad, bad, bad teacher.

Rona is one of the kindest and sweetest people I know. I had a personal problem with a brain tumor and she helped me through it all. She brought soup to my house and walked my dog. How wonderful is she?

Rona is beyond a doubt the worst teacher ever. Unfortunately I had to take 3 of her classes. Even more unfortunate is that one of the classes was algorithms, one of the few CS classes that's difficult to learn on your own. The class met once per week and she cancelled class 4 times in the 16 week semester. I can't decide if that was good or bad
