Great and fair teacher. Eco 101 is a tough class if no teacher present to explain things , but hes class is cleared. Quizzes every wk. Gives EXTRA CREDIT to help! The bad: he replies to emails within 1 or 2 days. If you are in the middle of assignment and need quick response, you might need to leave it for the next day or figure it out yourself.

Economics is a hard class to comprehend without an instructors input but the reviews on the other instructors are marginal too so it's probably a similar experience. Absolutely no input from instructor whatsoever so this review is really about the class itself. Quiz every week, 4 tests that are challenging but very similar to quiz. Challenging

Even though I have only met him in person twice, his online class was pretty informative and interesting. The tests are pretty hard though and you definitely have to study a lot in order to get a good grade. But overall it was an interesting class and I learned a lot about the basic principles of Economics.

Econ sucks... Doesn't matter if you take it online or in class.. I took Econ 102 in class and I feel you grasp material better that way but the test and quizzes are a lot harder than this online version. So if you want to grasp the material then take it in class, for an easier do it at your pace class do online.

one Quiz each week, you get 3 tries to better your grade. Tests go along with quizzes and homework. I finished with an 89 and he bumped me up to an A! I would highly recommend taking his online classes. Had him for Macro & Micro Economics.

Took his class online for microeconomics, so its unfair to really rate the professor when in actuality, the rating is on the class itself. I have heard that the actually class setting for this class is much harder than taking it online. This class has everything you need to do well, including lectures, e book, and practice quizzes.

Smart, personable guy. His lectures can get a little dry at times (even for an econ major) but overall he does a pretty good job at keeping the class interested. He has a little ideological tinge but who doesn't. Personally I preferred it since it challenged my own beliefs. Shame he's leaving AVC though, I still need to take micro!

Took Halcrow's Honors course and it was definitely a fun and interesting class. Was glad at the opportunity to take this course with such a dynamic professor that made every lecture interesting and relative to the subject at hand. Truely had a passion to teach and had fun while doing it.

I've learned that I hate economics!!!! But Prof. Halcrow is very fair, tries to help you understand, and is a really nice guy. I took him for macro and micro, and somehow passed both. I'm not sure if I would have made it with another prof. The test are super hard, and the subject matter is complicated, but do your homework and you should be fine.

Great teacher, thoroughly explained material. I liked his jokes. Must allocate time for reading the chapter before class, and for online homework! Expect to spend many hours studding! Reading & printing the ?E-Book? was difficult so I recommend buying the book! I?m happy I enrolled. I learned a lot & actually felt like I was in college!
