DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS, if you have that option. However Professor Ptak is usually the only one who teaches French 102 sadly. Can't stand this woman. Can't hear a thing, she's mean, and condescending. Don't even bother trying to ask her for help, 95% of the time she doesn't understand what you're asking. Expects fluency even though its a 100 level.

She's a very sweet lady outside of class. Don't be afraid from her in-class aggression. Be very prepared; loves it when you know the material. Somewhat vague at times and sets too high of expectations for a 100 level class, but is very passionate for you to learn. Very old-school too. Don't expect anything online or electronically involved

She is very passionate about the subject and her students reading before showing up to class. She will pick on you if she feel you are strong in the subject or you are not paying attention. Stay on top of things and be alert in class and you should be fine

Awful. Very condescending, impatient, and rude. Her writing on the black board is illegible, and I couldn't understand a word she said, English or French. Worst decision I made here was taking her class.

Gets frustrated very easily. Often looks at you like you're dumb if you ask a question. Speaks French the entire time and then gets upset when the class doesn't understand. Avoid her if you can.

Can't understand a word she says, ever. Very impatient and very old. Decided she hated me halfway in the semester and picked on me for the rest of it. Never got above a 93 even though it was the easiest class ever, and I used extremely advanced French (I've spoken it for 6 years). Learned absolutely nothing. What a waste.

i love love love her, she's like a feisty grandma. she pushes students because she believes they are capable of more. she really takes an interest in her students and not too difficult if you go to class - it a language class, you cant learn it if you aren't there.

One of the worst professors I've ever had. One of the most impatient and demanding prof's, she asks you to not be scared to participate, then bites your head off. Expects you to already know language, its a 100 level class, people are LEARNING, shes inconsiderate, rude, and I would go at all costs to avoid her.

very caring lady..at times class was hard to follow since we flew through everything, but if you go in to her office hours as much as possible, she'll help you out A LOT and she appreciates the people who try in class, even if they're wrong.
