This course was pretty hard but Ross did a good job explaining stuff and also responding to questions outside of class. He puts more effort than a lot of teachers. Not my favorite subject but it ended up being a pretty good course

This guy tries his best to give people good grades. Also teaches at Fordham Univ. He drops the lowest test and the 2 lowest homeworks. The final allowed you to not have to answer like 10 questions. Put in effort. He's always late but in return doesnt care about your own attendance/ lateness.

A great Professor that many times shows up late. He will give you clear explanations and teach you how to work the problems out by yourself. The exams are extremely tough. He occassionaly curves up to 30 pt. If you come to all classes, solve all the HW problems and go to all the problem sessions, you will be able to pull an A. You will have to work

Comment:

Always late, sometimes more than 1 hour, often cancels classes even without notice. It is sooooo frustrating, but I still like him because he is good at explaining and makes everything easy. Test is simple and easy A. If he is your teacher, make sure to go to problem sessions (w/Doug Brown), he is super helpful.

Incredibly unprofessional. Constantly late to the class, sometimes up to an hour. As result of his constant tardiness, there isn't enough time to cover the materials. So he just expects you to basically teach yourself and do the homework. The math department is aware of his unprofessionalism, yet he is still employed by the school.

The only good thing about him is that he can rephrase the theorems from the book in plan English. However, he wastes too much time by consistent latenesses, canceling classes, saying that problems are easy/trivial/obvious. In addition, he finished an entire chapter behind, relative to the original syllabus.

Comment:

He makes the material as easy to understand as it can be. The only warning is that the first time he teaches a given subject he's a bit disorganized, but even then he's better than most math professors. As some have mentioned, he DOES get a little snippy at students when they say something he thinks is dumb, but he's not overly mean. Take him.

One of the best profs I have had so far. Goes the extra mile to understand your thought process when explaining things and will take several different approaches if necessary. Very mellow and patient. Lots of homework, but reasonable ffairly graded exams.
