I think that people hate this guy because he is tough and doesn't let students walk all over him. He teaches class and leaves the rest to you. If you are a good student and do the problems and study, you can get an A. If you blow off class and don't try, you will fail this class. I really don't have any complaints - I'd say he is average.

This guy is a fool. Enjoys failing over half the class. Only went to class day before and of the test and was one of 3 people to get an A. Get the book, do the problems on your own and teach yourself. You'll get much farther than if you go to class.

what a joke. this man actually tries to confuse you. then he gives you tests that speak in a different language. dont study, not going to help a bit! i had a b average by the second exam, for which i studied my butt off and got lucky. luck ran out, and the curve wasnt that great! ended up with a d..for effort! dont take this mans class!!!

I took him twice just to see what students really thought of him. I'm a business major and I still got 2 A's so all this B.S. about him being too hard is just coming from those too lazy to do the work. He gives you the lectures only to get you motivated to understand what he wants for the homework and exams. The ****s who rated him low are stupid.

I think the students who rated Lorentz the way they did were the ones who blew off class and were not compelled to do their homework or study for the tests which were not easy. This prof was well missed in 2004-2005. Those who took stats were stuck with the worst teacher ever, Victor Nichol.
