Dr. Stoeckel passed away in July 2006, just a little time after retirement. But he was always a wonderful teacher and an amazing person.

Always interesting lectures. Yes, the pop quizzes are mostly on details, and some of the test questions may be a little strange, but overall, a great professor. By the end of a class, the chalkboard/white board/whatever board will be filled up with all kinds of his notes. Highly recommended.

AWESOME! Read all the little italics at the bottom of the readings for his quizzes. Best HUM teacher I ever had. Interesting and his tests are straightfoward!

Lots of reading and remembering (hard in that aspect), but easy to remember because of lecture; fun class; hilarious guy; one of the easier professors in humanities, I hear; recommend strongly

Lectures are great. Very interesting guy. His pop quizzes are very hard unless you pay attention to details in the story that have no significance to anything. Tests are the same way. He doesn't require any term papers though.
